Christian Medical Association (CMA)

November 8-9, 2002 CMA Retreat
The CMA retreat took place at the Woodcrest Conference Center in Ephrata, PA. No heat, freezing cold water, and four beds for eight guys and two small children were unable to stand between having a lot of fun, and a good time of worship and bible study. In addition, camp fires, the merry-go-round of nausea, Amber's deadly aim with a basketball, the rope course, and volleyball made our stay strange and interesting. Cooking Dinner
As medical students we are well aware of the nutritional value of marshmallows

Bible Study
These girls are wiped out after the bible study - and why wouldn't they be? They've only had ten hours of small children-absent sleep

Boy #1 and Boy #2
Irene and Amber carry the afore-mentioned small children, who slept in the guys' cabin. It's incredible how gettng woken up every three hours makes you treasure the sleep you get even more...

Merry-Go-Round of Nausea
Here, Eric goes for the speed record on the merry-go-round. The smarter members of CMA decided not to ride.

Merry-Go-Round of Nausea
Note I said the smarter members of CMA - I decided to jump on late and almost got thrown back off

Merry-Go-Round of Nausea
Pictured here are: Me, Joe, Robert (curled in fetal position chanting, "There's no place like home"), and Inez (huddled in the corner screaming quietly)

Playground Fun
Marc gets some much-needed help after Jeremy strands him in the air

Obstacle Course
This bridge made out of free-swinging loops of rope is MUCH easier for tall people!!!

Obstacle Course
This bridge made out of free-swinging loops of rope is MUCH easier for tall people!!!

Obstacle Course
Jeremy was one of the few people who made it over the rolling barrel - unfortunately he landed on his cast and spent the next five minutes screaming into the ground.

Obstacle Course
The pain didn't stop him from jumping at the chance to hold hands with Marc, though, while going over the tightrope course.

Obstacle Course
There's nothing like having a mass of people who haven't bathed recently trying to cram onto a two foot by two foot platform.
