Heaven

RECAP: Lucky and Liz got a little more intimate than they had previously after reconnecting in Paris, and stopped themselves before it went too far.
Liz nearly jumped out of her skin when the phone rang. She rolled over on her stomach to reach the phone on the night stand.
Liz: Hello?
Sarah: Lizzie? It's me, Sarah. I just called to let you know that we are having a pajama party here, and I probably won't make it back to the hotel. Are you gonna be all right?
Liz quickly glanced over to Lucky, who was still sleeping.
Liz: Um, yeah. I'll be fine, Sarah. Have fun!
She put the receiver back, picked up her shirt off the floor and pulled it over her head. She felt the heat creep up her face once again, and couldn't hide the smile that came along with it. She thought about everything that had happened that evening. It had felt so right being in Lucky's arms, sharing their warmth. They'd opened up another part of themselves to each other. And she rather liked it. She thought. It was certainly something she could never imagine herself doing just a year ago. Lucky had made her feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. His eyes filled with admiration, his touch filled with desire. It was......
Liz: So perfect.....
Lucky: That, you are.
Liz jumped at Lucky's voice, turned around with one hand over her heart.
Liz: Lucky! Don't ever do that again! You scared me!!
Lucky's lips semble into a coy smile.
Lucky: Oh, I'm sorry.....let me just.....make it up to you........
He took Liz's chin in his thumb and forefinger, covered her mouth with his firm, knowing lips. Liz mumbled against his lips.
Liz: Hmm....I suppose...I could overlook it....this time.....
Lucky turned her around so they faced each other when the kiss ended. They exchanged a tender smile.
Liz: Sarah called, She and her friends are having a pajama party, and she's staying over there tonight.
Lucky: A pajama party? That sounds....interesting. What about you? Do you have any plans tonight?
Liz: Not really...but I was kind of hoping a certain special someone might show up and keep me company....
Lucky: Oh, really? And who would that be?
Liz laughed lightheartedly.
Liz: Where are you staying? Do you have a hotel room? I know you don't have one here because I checked earlier.
Lucky scratched his head, wrinkled his nose.
Lucky: Well, I don't have a hotel room anywhere. I just kind of jumped on the jet and left......
Liz: Well, then. You are staying right here.
Lucky: I thought you'd never ask.
They exchanged another silly grin. Lucky moved up toward the headboard, taking Liz with him so that she was leaning against him with his arms around her. Lucky rested his chin comfortably on the top of Liz's head.
Liz: HMMM, I've really missed this.
Lucky: Me, too. I missed everything about you, Elizabeth.
Liz:( smiling) So, how did you find me anyway?
Lucky: Well, I went to London, but you'd already left for Paris when I got there.
Liz: You saw my parents?
Lucky: No, I never saw them. The lady that answered the door had British accent, so I don't think that was your mom.
Liz: That's Johanna. She kind of takes care of things around the house.
Lucky: She told me where you went, and where you were staying. She was very nice.....
Lucky's voice trailed off with a slight wariness. Liz titled her head up a bit to see his face.
Liz: What's the matter?
Lucky kissed her forehead, and covered her hand with his own.
Lucky: She said she couldn't bear to see you so sad any more. I'm sorry......
Liz: Well, I'm not sad anymore. That's what's important.
Liz kissed Lucky's hand and pulled his arms a little tighter around herself.
Liz: I was just thinking.....even if I was never raped, and you never had to stand by me through all the ordeals, we would have still ended up together. Something else would have brought us together. It was meant to be, Lucky. You and I. And ....This might sound a little far fetched, but....you know the guy I was talking to earlier?
Lucky: Who...was he?
Liz: I have no idea. I saw him this morning in the park in London. I think.....he's our guardian angel.
Lucky: Our guardian angel?
Liz looked up at Lucky.
Liz: Yeah. That's the only explanation I can think of. I mean, he was just there. He made me realized some things that I've not thought of. I turned around, and he was gone. Like "into the thin air" kind of gone. I think he was here to make sure that we would find our way back to each other.
Lucky: A guardian angel with a French accent, huh? Well, I guess Nikolas kind of fit into that category, too.
Liz: Nikolas?
Lucky: Yeah. He speaks French, too. He's the one that kind of knocked some sense into me. He made me see what an idiot I've been these past two months. And then he let me use the jet.
Liz grinned.
Liz: Well, remind me to thank him when we get back, would you?
Lucky: Sure thing. Speaking of going back....how long are you planning on staying here?
Liz: Paris? We were planning on staying for a week, but I don't have to stay the whole week. I'm sure Sarah can stay with her friends for a few days. Can you stay a few days? When do you have to go back?
Lucky: Well, I would love to have you come back with me when I do. I don't want you to cut your trip short just for me, but I don't think I should stay too long. I do have to get back to work. I know Jason won't mind, but I don't want to cause him any more trouble, or take advantage of his generosity.
Liz: Well, you are not going back there without me, that's for sure. I've spent enough time apart from you to last me a life time or two. How about....we spend tomorrow in Paris, and then go back to London to pack my stuff, and we can be back in Port-Charles by the day after tomorrow?
Lucky held on to Liz a little tighter.
Lucky: I don't ever want to be apart from you again for as long as I live, Elizabeth. It hurt when you were there and we weren't talking. But it was pure hell when you were so far away. We'll go see Paris tomorrow like you said. Then we'll go home. And......
Lucky's voice softened as he spoke.
Lucky: Elizabeth, I couldn't find the voice or the words to tell you earlier, but...you are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. I can't lie and say that I've never imagined what you looked like underneath all the clothes...but you were much, much more stunning than I could ever imagine.
Liz could practically feel her face turned red.
Liz: Lucky, you made me feel like I was the most desirable woman on the face of the earth. I've always thought I was the ugly duckling until I met you.
Lucky: Elizabeth, you are most definitely a swan, you were never an ugly duckling, baby. Never.
Liz smiled, turned around, on her knees, facing Lucky, and kissed him gently. She lowered her lashes, and spoke timidly.
Liz: Then.....maybe you won't have to imagine so much from now on....you've got the real thing............
Lucky smiled at that, took Liz's face in his hands, and looked right into her eyes.
Lucky: Elizabeth, I want you to know that I have never wanted anything like I want you. But I don't want you to think that's the only thing I want from you. I stopped us tonight because I don't want to give you the impression that being physically intimate with you was the only thing on my mind. It isn't. It never was. It never will be. We are not going to rush into anything just like we said before. I can wait till we are married. And what happened here tonight will not happen again unless you want it to. Do you understand me?
Liz felt her eyes water.
Liz: Lucky, I understand you. And I want you to know that what happened here tonight was the most wonderful experience I've ever had in my life. I agree we should still take everything slow, but I wouldn't mind a bit if something like this happens sometimes....not a bit.
Lucky kissed Liz once again, deeply.
Liz: I love you, Lucky.
Lucky: I love you more. I'll always love you, Elizabeth. Always.
In the city of lights and love, when the streets below were noisy and restless, two hearts shared the silent vow of never staying apart ever again for the rest of their lives as the moonlight that shone through the window witnessed it.
Lucky had been waiting for Liz in the lobby for about 15 minutes now. They'd had the day planed out early this morning. He'd excused himself by saying he was going down to the lobby to get some direction for the places they were going when in fact he was really trying to plan a surprise for Liz. He grinned again thinking of how wonderful it was to be able to do things like this for Liz again.
Liz came down in time to see his goofy grin, she walked behind him, and peeked her head out from behind him.
Liz: What's that silly grin for?
Lucky smiled, and picked Liz up, turned a few circles with Liz completely in shock, and in awe at the same time.
Lucky: I'm just happy to be with you again! That's all, baby.
When Lucky finally put Liz down, she'd contracted Lucky's silly grin.
Liz: Well, I'm glad to see you in such good spirits! These people must think we are crazy by now.
Lucky: Are you kidding? You are in Paris, Madame! They love to see people that are in love!!
Lucky held on to Liz's hands, exchanged a smile, ready to start their day in Paris.
They started the day by taking a boat trip down The Seine taking in all the view and the historical monuments. The Statue of Liberty by Pont De Grenelle which was the smaller version of the one that was presented to the USA by France in 1886; the 20 modern skyscrapers nicknames "the little New York" which was near the Eiffel Tower; the only Zouave that survived the rebuilding of the bridge Pont De L'alma which the Parisian was now using to measure the rises in the water level of the Seine.
They saw the Beautiful Bridge Alexandere III which was named after the Czar Alexandere when France had formed an alliance with Russia in 1891 and broke free of the diplomatic isolation Germany had orchestrated for the previous 20 years. The bridge was decorated with lions made of stone, statue glistering with gold and keystone, and adorned with nymphs of the Seine and Neva. Seeing the Notre-Dame was the most exciting thing for Liz.
Liz: Look at the beautifully perfect symmetry of it! And the rose windows!! this is one of the most splendid Gothic architectures in history!
Lucky glanced over to Liz, surprised.
Lucky: I didn't know you knew so much about Architecture history.
Liz: I don't really. I've always been fascinated with Notre-Dame though. Everybody wanted to come and see the Eiffel Tower or the Avenue Champs Elysees, I've always wanted to see Notre-Dame. I mean, it took them almost 200 years to get it built, the history during French revolution, and the story "the hunchback of Notre-Dame"! I don't know why, but I just love that story!
Lucky: Let me guess.....you feel for Quasimodo?
Liz turned and looked at Lucky, smiling.
Liz: Exactly! I mean, I can kind of relate to him. He was different from everyone in appearances, I've always been different or what some people said..weird...even though I may look just like everyone else. I think I just kind of ... understand.......
Lucky planted a kiss on Liz's lips, and kept his forehead against hers.
Lucky: Elizabeth, you are one of a kind. That's what you are. And I love you for it.
Liz smiled warmly, snuggled closer to Lucky throughout the rest of the boat trip.
By the time they got back to the hotel, it was nearly 4 in the afternoon. Lucky had told Liz that they should probably rest for a while before the evening plans which he wouldn't tell her. He only told her that he had made special plans that evening, and that she might want to change her T-shirt and jeans into something more glamorous.
Liz: Whatever that means.
Liz muttered to herself after taking the second shower that day, and drying her hair in front of the window looking over to the Seine. Lucky had promptly disappeared again after saying that he would be back in time to pick her up for the evening. Sarah was still nowhere in sight, Liz didn't know if she had been back and gone again, or simply stayed at her friends house for the day.
Liz walked over to the closet, and tried to decide which dress she should wear. She smiled when she took out the one that she was sure Lucky would love, humming happily while she put it on, and sat down in front of the vanity, looking at the grinning face in the mirror.
Liz: I'll give you a surprise, Lucky Spencer, if that's the way you like it.
