RECAP: Lucky and Liz shared a magical moment on Christmas Eve when Lucky came home for Christmas after on the road promoting his first album.

Nikolas came looking for Liz on a day in late January. Lucky had been on the road promoting the album once again. His song was playing on the radio all the time now, and the album turned out to be the biggest hit of the season. Lucky was now apparently the next teen "heartthrob" even though Nikolas knew that Lucky had not set out to accomplish that. Nikolas chuckled to himself, imagining Lucky trying to dodge all the girls chasing him around everywhere he went. He was sure that Liz knew about all that. What he didn't know was how she was taking it. It wasn't everyday your boyfriend became the guy that all the other girls in the world would like to have a date with. Lucky had been away from Port Charles for about two weeks this time performing in different cities, and even on TV shows.

Nikolas went upstairs after playing with Lulu for a while.

He heard some noise coming from the bathroom at the top of the stairs. The bathroom door was open. Nikolas stood in front of the door, his hand stopped in the air as he was about to knock on the door. Liz was kneeling in front of the bath tub. Nikolas sighed, and finally knocked on the door. Liz turned around, saw Nikolas, smiled, and turned back to the work at hand.

Nik: This must be the cleanest bath tub in Port Charles, Liz. This is the fourth time this month I found you in here scrubbing the bath tub.
Liz:Well, I've been taking more baths instead of showers lately. I've had.....more time.

Nikolas walked in, crouched down beside Liz, watching her scrubbing away the imaginary stains from the obviously already very clean tub. He looked at Liz for a minute, and gripped her hand, stopping her from continuing. Liz looked at Nikolas, raising her brows.

Nik: I think this tub is plenty clean, Liz.
Liz: There are things you can't see with bare eyes.
Nik: There are also things that any eyes can see very well. Liz, clean up and lets get out of here.

Liz remained silent for a few second, looked down at her hand, turned away, and sighed.

Liz: I really need to find something to do outside of cleaning the house from top to bottom constantly, don't I?
Nik: Well, I'm sure mom appreciates it very much, but she's also worried about you. We all are.

Nikolas released Liz's hand, stood up with Liz as she put the sponge away and washed her hands. She looked at herself in the mirror, brushed a few strings of hair away from her face. Her hazel eyes met Nikolas' in the mirror.

Liz: Where are we going?
Nik: Does it matter?

Liz sighed once again, a wry smile on her face.

Liz: I guess not.

Lucky stormed into the room as soon as V opened the door to the room she shared with Shelby. The magazine tightly in his fist, his vein bulged on his neck. He waved the magazine in his hand at V and Shelby angrily.

Lucky: What the hell is this? Who gave them the wrong information about me?
V: What is it?

V took the magazine from Lucky's hand, confused, looking for whatever it is Lucky was talking about in the magazine. Shelby was sitting down on the sofa, looking at Lucky.

Lucky: That little article said I don't have a girlfriend at the moment. What the hell is that about? I DO! I have a girlfriend! She's been in the studio many times, and I'm pretty sure everyone at L/B knows about her! So who is this jerk that told the reporter that I don't have a girlfriend?? V?
V: Calm down, please. Lucky. Let me think, this is Entertainment weekly......who was it that answered their questions about you on the phone....let me think.....

V paced the room, shaking the magazine in her hand. Shelby let out a breath, and looked up the ceiling.

Shelby: It was me, OK? I told them that you don't have a girlfriend at the moment.

V and Lucky both turned to her, their eyes demanding answers.

Lucky: I KNOW you know I have girlfriend. Elizabeth, remember?
V: Shelby, why did you tell them........
Shelby: I'm sorry, all right? I just thought that if the fans know you have a steady girlfriend, they might not be as crazy about you as they have been........
Lucky: What?? Why would that matter? I am who I am! I have a girlfriend whom I'm very much in love with. What's wrong with that!
Shelby: Nothing! It's just ................

V sighed, and turned to Lucky.

V: I think I know why she did that. You do know how popular you are with female fans. Shelby is just worried that if they know you are attached, they won't be as much of a fan.....
Lucky: I don't care if they do! Not if I'll have to lie about something as important to me as that! They can like me for my music!
V: I understand. Shelby, you really shouldn't have done that. Lucky's right. we shouldn't be lying about something like that. We shouldn't be lying about anything at all! Lucky, I'll call them in the morning and tell them that was a mistake, and that you do have a girlfriend. Don't worry, I'm sure your appeal would remain the same if not better. I mean, look at Mel Gibson, his married and has 7 kids! I think that is very sexy!
Lucky: I really don't need to be sexy.......anyway, I'm going to go call Liz and tell her about the "mistake" before she reads this and thinks that I said it to the reporter. Thanks, V. Good night.

Lucky walked out and shut the door. V looked over to Shelby.

Shelby: I'm sorry! I didn't think it would be such a big deal.........I'm sorry, OK?
V: It is a big deal, Shelby. I would have been ticked if it were me. Just remember, Lucky loves Elizabeth very much, anyone can see that. And we need to respect that, you understand? I'm not going to ruin someone's personal life just so we can sell a few more thousand records. Never. There are some things a lot more important than making money.

Shelby smiled.

Shelby: It's so hard to believe someone as moral like you would be so attached to Jax. I just hope he can buy himself a clue with all that money, and soon. You're obviously not going to tell him.
V: I don't know what you are talking about. And by the way, Jax happens to be one of the most decent people I know.

Shelby grinned as V's cheeks turned red. V picked up the pillow nearby and threw it at Shelby.

Liz picked up the phone at the second ring.

Liz: Spencers.
Lucky: Elizabeth!

Liz gripped the receiver tighter in her hands. Her whole face brightened.

Liz: Lucky! Where are you?
Lucky: San Francisco. Are you busy?
Liz: No, no. I miss you.
Lucky: Oh, I miss you too, baby. It's just not enough to just look at your pictures!
Liz: Oh, I know! It just makes me miss you even more.
Lucky: Elizabeth, I have to tell you something.
Liz: OK?
Lucky: Someone at L/B told a magazine reporter some wrong information, they printed that I don't have a girlfriend.
Liz: They.....printed?
Lucky: Yeah, but don't worry, I talked to V. She is going to call them and make sure they print a retraction and explain that it was a mistake. I do have a girlfriend. I just want to call you so you don't see it or hear about it, I'd hate for you to think the worst.
Liz: I won't, Lucky. I know you better than that.
Lucky: That's what I thought. I love you, baby.

Liz' fingers twirled the phone cord, smiling brilliantly.

Liz: I love you, Lucky.
Lucky: So how is Port Charles? Any news I should know about?
Liz: Not really.....we all miss you, but that's not really news, is it? Oh, wait. I do have some news. Nikolas took me to see a play today, and .........
Lucky: Nikolas took you to see a play?

Liz smiled at the slight jealousy in Lucky's tone. She was sure Lucky knows that there was nothing to be jealous about her hanging out with Nikolas, yet he does anyway. She found that very endearing.

Liz: Yeah, it was a local theater company. We went backstage afterwards because Nikolas knows one of the technicians working there. Anyway, long story short, I'm going to start going over there to help with the set design and that kind of stuff. Isn't that great?
Lucky: You mean doing all kinds of backstage work?
Liz: Exactly! They need someone to help out with designing and painting the set for their production, and since I love to paint, they hired me right on the spot. I'm sure Nikolas's vouching for me played a big part in it though.
Lucky: So you'll be working over there and Kelly's?
Liz: Yeah, for a while anyway. If the theater company has more work for me later, I may just have to tell Ruby to get someone else to cover me. We'll see.
Lucky: Just don't get too busy, OK? I don't want you to get worn out.......
Liz: Lucky, I've got so much time on my hands you wouldn't believe the kind of things I do to just keep myself occupied! Besides, I'm not the one you should be worrying about. Are you taking care of yourself? You have to make sure you eat well, and rest enough when you are on the road like that..........

The sound of Lucky's laughter stopped Liz. She listened to Lucky's laugh, and was reminded once again how much she missed him.

Lucky: Baby, I'm taking care of myself. Don't worry, OK? You sounded like mom when she's on the phone with me.
Liz: Well, we miss you, and we worry about you.
Lucky: I know, and I miss you too. I should be home in about another week. God, I can't wait to wrap my arms around you again.........among other things, of course.
Liz: (grinning) Well, lets hear it, Lucky. What else do you miss about me?
Lucky: Well, for starters, I'd like to hug you so tightly that your ribs might crack. And then, I would love to kiss those most beautifully shaped and most kissable lips of yours....................

Liz curled up in her bed, the receiver in her hand, bathed in the moonlight coming through the window, listening to Lucky's words go on and on with a smile while Lucky lay in his hotel bed 3000 miles away talking until he can imagine Liz's beautiful face flushed like the gorgeous red-purple sunset he wished he could share with her outside of his window.

" Somewhere out there" From "THE AMERICAN TAIL"

Somewhere out there
Beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me
And loving me tonight

Somewhere out there
Someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another
In that big somewhere out there

And even though I know
How very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing
On the same bright star

And when the night wind
Starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping
Underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we'll be together
Somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

And even though I know
How very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing
on the same bright star

And when the night wind
Starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping
Underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we'll be together
Somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true...
