Infra Red Remote Control

This project was a good learning experience in optical communication field. Here we used an infrared signal to achieve the on of control of any device within the ratings 230V-5A AC. The principle was to detect an infrared coded with a particular frequency and to toggle the state of relay switch when such an IR beam was detected. Care was taken to prevent false detection and key debouncing. This project received the First Prize at the COET's Electronics andTelecommunications department's third year project display held in 1998.
