HISTORY

As the story goes:
The Red Rocket Club (RRC for short) was founded first as a joke on September 21st, 1998...throughout New York's Hudson Valley.
Somehow it grew and became real. The rest is history.

The "rocket" aka a beatup 1988 Plymouth Horizon, was bought in 1996 from Ryan's grandmother for $750.00. Good deal eah!  At the time it had about 40,000+ miles on it.

How the club was started-
Since the Rocket was all fixed up and in perfect running
condition; people would wonder and ask if  that"thing" was still running? Ry would say ...hell yeah; So something needed to be done. So Ry began to send out newsletters to friends and family that gave an overall outlook on the Rocket's status and so forth. In the begining about 10 newsletters were sent out.  Soon after a transition was made so that the newsletter started to include events and updates about the area and what people were up to;  as well as what's going on with the Rocket.

-2 years go by-
In the summer of 1998 the owner of the car; Ryan V. aka big Ry was having a multiple of car troubles both mechanical and financial. The "Rocket" was on it's way out! A serious overhaul needed to be done and there was gonna be a high repair cost. So Ry went looking for a "newer" car. Well; needless to say after searching and searching and seeing that any  reliable vehicle would be slightly over his price range; he decided to get the "Rocket" fixed up. Thats when September 21st,1998 comes in. That day the Red Rocket was completly fixed up at Bone Steels  Automotive. The Bitch was back!

JUNE 2000 RIP ROCKET
In June of 2000, following a last run in with the mechanic...it
was decided that the Rocket needed to be retired. Ry was going to Albany everyday and a reliable source of transportation was needed. The mechnics diagnosis was not good. She needed a front axel and the cost would be close to $300.00. So over many sleepless nights...Ry decided to sell her. IT was a good decision though. The Rocket was repaired and is doin fine. She has been back and forth to Rochester, NY several times. A good value for $300.00. Ry's new honda runs like a champ! He loves it but it will never replace the Rocket!
