The debut album from Danger Danger kicks things into motion with the classic
"Naughty Naughty",a pulsating piece of cock rock at it's best, next up is "Under The Gun" which is a pure classic AOR tune, the like's of which Survivor & Night Ranger could only dream of writing, starting off with the lush keyboards of "Kasey Smith" and building to a monster of a chorus "Under The Gun" is a pure gem.
Then we have which in my opinion is the most awful track Danger Danger have ever recorded,"Saturday Nite" is a lame piece of AOR by numbers and has no place on such a quality cd.
Things improve ten fold with "Dont Walk Away",an uptempo ballad with a rolling baseline and gentle guitar licks make it the perfect summer anthem for cruising in your car.
Next up are three powerhouse rockers "Bang Bang" "Rock America" & "Boys Will Be Boys",each one packed full of huge chorus's and excellent guitar work courtesy of "Tony Rey",Danger Danger have never been regarded as purveyors of deep meaningfull lyrics:but who cares when the songs are as catchy as this.
We then slow things down a notch with the Ballad "One Step From Paradise" before my favorite track from this cd kicks in,"Feels Like Love" should have been a huge hit for Danger Danger,it's a prime slice of AOR and still stands head and shoulders above any new Melodic Rock out there,it has a chorus that most bands would kill for and an amazing heartfelt solo from "Tony Rey",simply one of the best AOR tunes ever recorded, another rocker"Turn It On" blast's from the speakers before they finnish off with the quite funky "Live it Up".
All in all a near perfect album, only let down by "Saturday Nite",Lance Quinn's production hasnt aged quite as well as the songs but it still sounds better than most other releases from that era.
