This may seem long and boring, but read it now to save pain and aggrivation later...
All pictures, sounds, facts, and quotes from the sites I maintain are presented strictly for the education and entertainment of my visitors. Please e-mail me if you see something that needs to be removed or credited. Although this site is signed up with a couple of other sites (cdnow.com, reel.com, amazon.com, and goto.com), all profits from these do not go to anything obscene, profane, or lewd, and none of this money pays for extra webspace or anything cyber-related.
Many images on my sites have been taken from the Ebay Auctions. This has been done because some star pictures are so scant on the Internet and my personal collection. If you find a picture that you recently sold or bought that you'd rather not have here, do let me know and it will be taken care of.
This site looks best with Internet Explorer or Netscape 3.0 or higher. If your browser can't handle the navigation system for my site, then your best bet is to click here and all your Net surfing problems will be solved. Since this site has lots of Java, JavaScript, and frames, you should consider downloading something powerful enough to handle this. If you aren't sure about what your browser can handle, go back and see if you can see a clock in your taskbar when the page is done loading. Or, test the navigation. If you have problems navigating and/or do not see a clock, then you will not be able to surf this site the way it was meant to be surfed. However, the Java free version (see main page) may be used (just be sure and read the top part of this special navigation page first).
If your cursor does not look like a rose on the main page, then a popup window will have came up so you could download the software that would allow it to do so. This is not manditory, but it looks kinda cool, so try it out. You'll know it works when the rose is red with a green stem, and yellow with a green stem when you glide it over a link.
The websites, articles, and Webrings that I create are the result of nearly three years of learning HTML and researching the classic film genre. This adds up to countless hours of Internet time and dozens of movies/shows that had to be seen and books/magazines/et al that had to be read. My first major Internet project was the late Clark Gable's Shrine in Cyberspace (view old statistics), and through it I learned a lot about different Website styles and how to fit everything together, get my site noticed, and more. More hours of labor were crucial to the existence of all my other web projects, all so that fellow fans of old movies could learn about stars and films that don't always get the recognition they deserve. However, there is no way to stop people from stealing pictures and/or text. I mean, you can try things, but nothing's foolproof. If someone really wants a rare magazine cover of Theda Bara or an exhaustively typed-up filmography of Eleanor Boardman, they will work very hard to get it for their site, and more often than not will not notify you. But then again, the people who steal often have the most boring sites. Boring means fewer visitors. Obvious stealing means lots of angry e-mails and guestbook signings. So basically, being an uncreative schlub can really catch up with you. For the rest of us, ask away, but I don't part with some things. Just remember that, because my filmography of Eleanor Boardman was pretty hard to get together.
Now that you've read all that, click here and enjoy the classic movie experience you came here for.
