ROSWELL

Roswell short summaries...

*This episode summary contains spoilers.

Hi there! I haven't had as much time and energy as I'd like to have, so these short summaries will have to suffice for now! I'll try to get myself caught up, but at least it's easy to keep these shorts up-to-date!! :)

4/10: CRAZY--Sorry folks, this is so late... The next episode is only 2 days away (whoo hoo!!) Well, in case any of you missed this episode (I hope not!), here's what happened: Liz and Max are the ideal couple after the last episode; they are definitely not afraid to show their love in public, which leads to Maria wanting more from Michael. Michael is only confused, and when he *tries* to change for Maria, it doesn't work out very well. Finally, Maria realizes that she should just accept him for who *he* is, and not what as the *ideal boyfriend* she's always wanted. Meanwhile, Isabelle is feeling a bit left out of things; Alex tries to comfort her, but she seems a bit more preoccupied with the new girl at school, Tess. But that's just the backdrop. The main story consists of a frazzled Topolsky who as reappeared! She has apparently been through a lot, and is still running from the extremely elite 'Alien Hunters' group she was initiated into, after being the first to come into contact with 'the subject.' She tries to befriend Liz first, then Valenti, but to no avail. Finally, she goes to Michael, who has not trusted her from the beginning. Michael agrees to meet her, and tries to keep it a secret from the others, but they all find out anyway. Max is extremely angry at Michael's rash decision and punches him! Through this fight, they lose the 'communicator' to Valenti, which was what Max and Liz found in the desert last episode.

4/17: TESS, LIES, AND VIDEOTAPE--In this week's episode, the gang learns a whole lot more about Tess and her family. Continuing from the last episode, Max still feels something strange for her, and he can't help himself when he keeps thinking sexual thoughts of her. Though he tries to comfort himself and Liz by throwing reassuring them both, he ends up kissing Tess. Unfortunately, Liz sees this, and is broken-hearted by it. Afterwards, Max goes to Michael, not knowing what to do. They get in a shoving match, and when Max slams Michael into the refrigerator, they see that a tiny camera has been placed there. Emotions aside, the gang comes to together to try and find out who might be spying on them. Liz distances herself from Max, although Max continues to try and gain her trust. He keeps saying that there was 'something controlling [him],' but no one seems to believe him. Finally, Liz takes the plunge and goes to Tess' house. She hides the camera there (Alex has figured out how to make it work for *them*), and looks in a box marked 'Photos;' this box ends up being tons of photos of *Max*! When Liz thinks she may be in trouble, she calls Max, who comes to her rescue. Their relationship still needs to be smoothed out, but now they have one *more* thing to worry about: Tess.

4/24: FOUR SQUARE--This week's episode continues right from last week's, where the gang is trying to figure out who Tess really is. Max thinks he has it figured out, that Tess must be Nesado, playing with their heads. While the six of them "stalk" Tess, watching her every move and investigating her, they also watch out for Max ("I don't need babysitting!" Max cries out ;P)... Liz and Max's relationship seems to have healed somewhat, but they are still distant (Liz turns away when Max tries to kiss her). Meanwhile, Tess is playing with them too! Isabelle finds her talking with Ms. Evans, pretty much invading her home life. Thereafter, Isabelle and Michael begin having dreams simultaneously, about getting intimate. In their dreams, they even have a child! This provokes their desperate relationships with Maria and Alex. ^_^ At the end, Tess shows up in Max's bed (!) and Max is led out to the desert (crash-site). Max is very zoned out, and zombie-like, but suddenly comes to life and accuses Tess of being Nesado. Tess tries to remind him that he KNOWS who she is, and he has a flashback of him, Isabelle, and Michael crawling out of their pods. Lil' Max sees a lil' Tess still floating in her pod, and doesn't want to leave her. However, he decides to go with Michael and Isabelle in the end, and that is how the four got separated. By the end, they realize that Tess is "one of them," and that, as aliens, they have predestined "life partners:" Michael & Isabelle, and Max & Tess.

5/8: THE WHITE ROOM--After being placed in a white-paneled room (also, an observatory for Agent Pierce, who turns out to be the same 'deputy' who showed up at Valenti's office in the last episode), Max continues to deny that he isn't human. Pierce tells him to drop the act, and shows Max the information they've collected on him and his species (they know about the aliens' weird blood cells). Pierce goes through a number of strategies to get Max to talk; however, Max really doesn't know anything about his alien race! After undergoing mind-altering drug treatments, Max is then subjected to virtual reality threats (Pierce shows him images of a dead Liz), then even shock treatments! Pierce and the scientists even know the right nerve to hit so that Max can't use any alien powers on them. Meanwhile, the gang is trying to figure out what to do... they decide NOT to tell Valenti anything, and the remaining aliens vow to save Max. Liz, Maria, and Alex are left at the Crashdown... they would only be more trouble, Tess puts bluntly. After cautiously wandering around, the aliens bump into Nasedo, who is also looking to save Max! While Michael and Nasedo physically save Max, Tess and Isabelle use their mental powers from afar (Tess can cause people to think something is happening when it isn't really!). Before the episode is over, though, Nasedo is bent on killing Pierce while he is under Tess's 'spell.' However, agents bust in the room and kill Nasedo; Michael is scrambling to get a drugged Max out, and Valenti shows up surprisingly. Liz has evidently broken her vow of secrecy and told him things to get his help. Valenti shoots Pierce and Michael and Max and the others get out safely, we assume...

5/15: DESTINY--In this season's finale (yes, Roswell has been renewed for another 13 episodes!! :), a lot of the unexplained is explained and there's a good amount of closure for a season finale (probably because the writers didn't know if the show would be renewed or not!) After the gang escapes the "MIB," they decide what to do next. The sheriff now knows about them, and Nesado is missing. They capture Pierce and try to find out more about Nesado; a pivotal moment is when Kyle shows up and, thinking Pierce is still his father's deputy, gives him a gun. Once Pierce is loose, he and Valenti exchange gunfire, but it is ultimately Michael's newfound powers that kill Pierce. However, Valenti discovers that Kyle has been cut down in the crossfire; he mourns him, then asks the aliens for help. Max saves Kyle's life, much like he saved Liz's. Valenti vows to be their ally afterwards. Also, they discover Nesado's whereabouts; he has been "killed," but Tess informs him that Nesado can't be killed. They gather together in the Cave with the Stones and suddenly Nesado is alive again. Soon after, Max gets an idea on using the communicators. The two "couples" (Max+Tess, Michael+Isabel) focus their energy into each communicator and an image of a woman appears. She is Max and Isabel's real mother and explains that they are reborn souls of a past alien life: Max was the leader of their "people," and Tess was his young bride. Michael was Max's second-in-command, and betrothed to Isabel. They are different from Nesado because they were reborn with both alien and human elements. The episode leaves us with a new adventure (saving the aliens' home planet), and Liz leaving Max to his own Destiny with Tess.

10/2: SKIN AND BONES--In this much-awaited season premiere, the gang comes back from a summer hiatus. Suddenly a new enemy comes into view, in the form of the female senator of New Mexico, who seems to be on a vicious mission to unveil the truth about alien life out there. While Nesado (in the form of Pierce) helps to keep the senator under control, a mysterious "other" makes itself present--this new alien force seems snake-like in that it leaves its shed skin everywhere. As the main climax of the show comes from the "Czechs"' mission to cover up the real Pierce's dead body (which had accidentally been found), the season's theme becomes present near the last few moments of the show. Max lies in bed, pondering his now distant relationship with Liz, and hears a knock on the window. He is surprised when a bloodied Nesado comes tumbling in, only saying "They're here." Though Max tries to heal him, nothing goes, and we're left to find out what happens. A short appearance of Maria and Michael's relationship comes into play, where Michael still insists they stay apart because of his newfound role of "soldier."

10/9: ASK NOT--This episode opens where the last episode left off. Nesado has come to Max, half-dead; by the time Max leaves Nesado to tell the others, Nesado is all-dead. :( The Czechs regroup to figure out how to deal with the Skins, their new enemy. Max finds out that his boss at the UFO Museum mysteriously sold the property to an Englishman (remember that guy in "Go"? ^_~). The Czechs investigate, and Michael and Isabel are all for killing the guy. Max, meanwhile, has been listening in history class and begins to imitate JFK (a nicely done comparison that is shown throughout the entire episode). In the end, Max forces Michael and Isabel to stand aside while he risks being found out by the would-be Skin. The Englishman (for the life of me, I can't remember his name) turns out to be an abductee, which was an interesting 180-turn in developing themes. What's going on with the humans, you ask? Liz butters up to the congresswoman as they share mini-"independence days;" however, the congresswoman seems to have alterior motives. Another interesting plot twist: now that Nesado is gone, Max apparently feels it necessary for Tess to be more protected; she moves in with the Valentis. Ergo, Tess and Kyle get friendly. Get yer mind outta the gutter, they just get to know each other better. ...Ok not what I mean, again. ^_~
