With
all these new feelings and all the confusions that
teenagers face we really need a strong support system.
Friends are just that, and they are there for the
long haul. Try your best to be a good and loyal
friend and to not turn your back on your friends when
they need you. It is really importantt to remember
not to put boyfriends or girlfriends ahead of
friendships.
I
am lucky becuase I have two friends whom I consider
to be the best. In fact, you may know who they are
from The Real World/Road Rules Casting Special.
Trevor and Mike have been there for me through the
many things--both good and bad. My friends are what
made it possible for me to enjoy high school. I
always felt secure that they would be there for me
when I needed them. We had other friends who blew us
off for a girlfriend or boyfriend, and, to be honest,
when they realized they had messed up, it was too
late.
If
there is one message I want to pass on to you, it is
to cherish your friends and never toss them aside for
a girlfriend, boyfriend or anything else that might
come along. Cherish them for the gifts they are.
