~*~ The Matrix ~*~

Agent Smith: Did you know that the first Matrix was designed to be a perfect human world, where none suffered; where everyone would be happy. It was a disaster. No one would accept the program. Entire crops were lost. Some believed that we lacked the programming language to describe your perfect world, but I believe that as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering. So the perfect world we dreamed, but your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. Which is why The Matrix was redesigned to this...the peak of your civilization.

Cypher: There is something about him, isn't there?
Trinity: Don't tell me you're a believer now?
Cypher: I just keep wondering if Morpheus is so sure, why doesn't he take him to see the Oracle?
Trinity: Morpheus will take him when he is ready.

Morpheus: The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window. Or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work. When you go to Church. When you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Cypher: But there's way too much information to decode The Matrix. You get used to it. I-I don't even see the code. All I see is Blonde, Brunette, Redhead....

Morpheus: As long as The Matrix exists, the human race will never be free.

Morpheus: Unfortunately, no one can be....told what The Matrix is...you have to see it for yourself.

Mouse: Now how did the machines know what Tasty Wheat tasted like, huh? Maybe they got it wrong. Maybe what I think Tasty Wheat tasted like actually tasted like, uh...Oatmeal or Tuna fish. That makes you wonder about a lot of things. You take chicken for example. Maybe they couldn't tell what to make chicken taste like which is why chicken tastes like everything!

Neo: I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world....without you. A world without rules and controls. Without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible. Where we go from there, is a choice I leave to you.

Morpheus: What is The Matrix? Control. The Matrix is a computer generated dream world built to keep us under control in order to change a human being into this.
Neo: No. I don't believe it. It's not possible!
Morpheus: I didn't say it would be easy, Neo. I just said it would be the truth.

Neo: What is it?
Trinity: A deja vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something.

Mouse: So what did you think of her?
Neo: Of who?
Mouse: The woman in the red dress? I designed her. She, um, doesn't talk very much, but if you'd like to meet her, I can arrange for a much more personal, intimate evening.
Switch: A digital pimp at work!
Mouse: Pay no attention to these hypocrites, Neo! To deny our own impulses, is to deny the very thing that makes us human.

Neo: What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets?
Morpheus: No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to.

Neo: You ever have that feeling where you're not sure if you're awake or still dreaming?
Choi: Mm-hmm. All the time! It's called Mescaline....It's the only way to fly.

Agent Smith: You hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability. It is the sound....of your death.

Oracle: Morpheus believes in you, Neo. And no one, not you, not even me can convince him otherwise. He believes it so blindly, that he's going to sacrifice his life, to save yours.

Agent Smith: You're going to help us, Mr. Anderson. Whether you want to or not.

Neo: If you're killed in the Matrix, you die here?
Morpheus: The body cannot live without the mind.

Agent Smith: Goodbye, Mr. Anderson.
Neo: My name.......is NEO!

Agent Smith: Like the dinosaur.....Look out that window. You had your time. The future is our world, Morpheus. The future is our time.

Trinity: He told me I wasn't really looking for him. I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us, Neo. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question, just as I did.
Neo: What is the Matrix?
Trinity: The answer is out there, Neo. It's looking for you. And it will find you. If you want it to.

Morpheus: The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around and what do you see? Businessmen, Teachers, Lawyers, Carpenters...the very minds of the people we're trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so innerred, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will that they will fight to protect it. Are you listening to me, Neo? Or were you looking at the woman in the red dress?
Neo: I was....
Morpheus: Look again. *Neo turns around and sees an agent pointing a gun at him* Freeze it!

Morpheus: You take the blue pill, the story ends...you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland and I'll show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Neo: I know what you're trying to do.
Morpheus: I'm trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door. You're the one who has to walk through it.

Morpheus: This is a sparring program. Similar to the programmed reality of The Matrix. It has the same basic rules...rules like gravity. What you must learn is that these rules are no different than the rules of a computer system. Some of them can be bent...others can be broken.

Agent Smith: Have you ever stood and stared at it? Marveled at it's beauty? It's genius? Billions of people just living out their lives......oblivious....

Neo: This....this isn't The Matrix?
Morpheus: No. It's another training program designed to teach you one thing. If you are not one of us, you are one of them.
Neo: What are they?
Morpheus: Sentient programs. They can move in and out of any software still hardwired to their system. That means that anyone we haven't unplugged is potentially an agent.

Morpheus: We have survived by hiding from them...by running from them. But they are the gatekeepers. They are guarding all the doors, they are holding all the keys, and that means that sooner or later, someone is going to have to fight them.
Neo: Someone?
Morpheus: I won't lie to you, Neo. Every single man or woman who has stood their ground, EVERYONE who has fought an agent has died. But where they have failed, you will succeed.
Neo: Why?
Morpheus: I've seen an agent punch through a concrete wall. Men have emptied entire clips and hit nothing but air. Yet their strength is and their speed are still based in a world that is build on rules, and because of that, they will never be as strong or as fast as you can be.

Neo: Wow, that sounds like a really good deal. But I think I've got a better one. Why don't I give you the finger....and you give me my phone call.

Neo: What truth?
Morpheus: That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else, you were born into bondage. Born into a prison that you cannot smell or taste or touch. A prison....for your mind.

Morpheus: Unfortunately, no one can be, told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.

Lieutenant: I sent two units. They're bringing her down now.
Agent Smith: No, Lieutenant, your men are already dead.

Morpheus: This is a sparring program, similar to the programmed reality of the Matrix. It has the same basic rules, rules like gravity. What you must learn is that these rules are no different than the rules of a computer system. Some of them can be bent, others can be broken. Understand? Then hit me, if you can.

Morpheus: What is real? How do you define real? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see...then real is simply ... electrical signals interpreted by your brain.

Spoon Boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Spoon Boy: There is no spoon.
Neo: There is no spoon?
Spoon Boy: Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

Cypher: It means buckle your seatbelt, Dorothy, 'cause Kansas, is goin' bye-bye.

Neo: Am I dead?
Morpheus: Far from it.

Morpheus: How did I beat you?
Neo: You're too fast.
Morpheus: Do you believe that my being stronger, or faster, has anything to do with my muscles, in this place? Do you think that's air you're breathing now?
