Mara Jade's history is sketchy at best. Probably kidnapped by the Empire at a very young age she was trained to be the Emperor's right hand and personal assassin from before she can remember. She travled around the galaxy performing his orders, she could hear his comands through the force. But after the Battle of Endor when the Emperor died, her life fell apart. Having no purpose she drifted from job to job only keeping the Emperor's last command "you will kill Luke Skywalker" locked in her brain. She met Talon Karrde and agreed to work for him on the Smugglers Alliance. She was happy until one day a lone X-WING carrying Luke Skywalker crashed on the planet where the Smugglers Alliance base was. Fighting with herself she didn't kill Luke but helped him defeat the evil Clone Master Jorrus C'Boath and she killed Luke's clone that eased her pain because she followed the Emperor's last command to kill Luke Skywalker. Afterwards Luke gave her his fathers lightsaber. Mara continued to work on the Smuggler's Alliance for a few years and occasianally dropping by Yavin 4 to train her Jedi skills and to see Luke. She helped on many missions for the New Republic, on one mission looking for the Hand of Thrawn Luke and her worked together on a planet on the edges of the outer rim where they found the Hand of Thrawn along with a clone thrawn.They managed to destroy it but when locked in a flooding chamber Luke proposed to her and she accepted. Later when Luke saw her in what he thought was death he was able to wake her from her Jedi trance by telling her he loved her. After the proposal they find out even greater news the Imperial remnant has signed a peace treaty with the Republic. Luke and Mara have a beautiful wedding ceremony on Coruscant. As a wedding gift Luke builds Mara a new ship called the Jade Sabre. Five years after the peace treaty with the Empire Mara and five others were infected with a disease from the Yuuzhan Vong all but Mara died from the disease. It was during this illness that Mara discovered she was pregnant. The healing glow of the force with the love of a mother, father and newborn son finally cured Mara of the horrible disease. Now Mara is raising her son Ben Skywalker, and defending the galaxy from the deadly Yuuzhan Vong. |
