28 DAYS |
2000 |
Sandra Bullock plays an alcoholic and drug addict who is sentenced to serve 28 days at a drug abuse clinic when she gets into a car accident. Its probably some of the best acting Bullock has ever done and she has good back-up from Steve Buscemi and Elizabeth Perkins. While I'm sure the film had very good intentions, it ends up following a format very similar to other recovery films and you can pretty much guess everything before it happens. All the token characters are represented in Bullock's little group: the grump, the playboy, the homosexual, the suicidal, the sports hero and in the end they all bond together and grow. The film definitely has its moments, but I think this one is a rental. |
