3000 MILES TO GRACELAND |
2001 |
I know the whole premise seems tired and overdone, but how can you argue with Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell, Christian Slater and David Arquette as Elvis impersonators knocking off a Vegas hotel? As you can imagine, some things go wrong, dissenters break up the group, and it becomes "chase the person with money." Courtney Cox looks good as Russell's love interest and Kevin Pollack is the federal marshal who doesn't get quite enough screen time. The biggest problem with this movie is that it has a bit of an identity crisis. In the beginning its an MTV-style action flick (with a really cool shoot-out), then it slows down and there are a few random acts of violence, and finally it closes with another shoot-out (this one really stupid) and a fairy tale ending. Oh, and then it gets all funky again. Am I doing a good job explaining this? Oh hell, just remember its all fun and bubble gum. |
