THE 6TH DAY |
2000 |
Its high time Arnold bid adieu to Hollywood and go sell the BowFlex or something. In his latest farce, he plays a man who has been illegally cloned and is now being hunted by the men who cloned him because they thought he was killed so they cloned him to cover it up but when they found out that he wasn't really killed and that the real him was still alive they realized they needed to destroy the clone so that no one would know that they were illegally making clones. Whew! Did you get that? The movie gives us some really interesting looks into technology in the future and at the ethics of cloning humans, but that pretty much goes down the toilet when the bad guys start shooting laser guns that the filmmakers must've gotten at a Star Wars garage sale. The only bright point might be the nice performance by the enormously talented Robert Duvall whom it seems has recently become just a prostitute for the formulaic, mediocre action film. As you probably expected, this one is mildly entertaining at best. |
