Is there a more annoying and unlikable character in any film this year than Kirsten Dunst in this film? She plays a misunderstood alcoholic trouble-making teenager. She falls in love with newcomer Jay Hernandez, a bright, hard-working teenager who is hoping to get into the naval academy... basically her complete opposite. Do you see where this is going? Yet another sappy, aggravating "love conquers all" film. Normally I'm a sucker for just that, but I hated Kirsten so much that by the end of the film I would've rather seen them not end up together. Blah, blah, blah. Too much time on my hands I guess.
