DINOSAUR |

If you have children in the family, or if you, yourself, are young at heart, or if you simply love the art of animation, then this is the summer blockbuster that you've been waiting for. This may be the most visually stunning film ever created by the Disney people. What they've chosen to do is use actual footage of beautiful scenery around the world, and then draw(computer graphics) the very-realistic dinosaurs into the scenery. The combined effect is amazing, and often breathtaking. The story is the usual Disney formula: an orphan is raised by adoptive parents, and after confronting a bully and natural disasters, takes his/her place in the natural order of things. Yes, these dinorsaurs DO speak(in the voices of D.B. Sweeney, Della Reese, Julianna Margulies, Joan Plowright, etc.) but they DON'T sing. Elton John was too busy writing the songs to the movie "The Road to El Dorado," and the Broadway musical, "Aida." There is, therefore, something missing in the film, and it's what keeps it from getting 5-Stars. |

Disney does it again. Even though this is the same old story that we've seen countless times from them, they manage to add those little touches that make the difference. But this time, the animation is so incredible that it probably wouldn't have mattered. I saw this film on a digital projector and the clarity just blew me away. If you enjoy Disney's animated films, you'll enjoy this one. |
