Fast cars, beautiful women in tight clothing, and these annoying guys who keep ruining the film with their boring and uninspired dialogue. A grimey Sylvester Stallone and Burt Reynolds under about 2 inches of makeup top off a cast of mostly unknowns, with the exception of the ever-trashy Gina Gershon. And everyone is a little less than mediocre. Director Renny Harlin manages to make yet another film devoid of any real substance. I will admit this, though, the race scenes are pretty exciting and the special effects for the crash scenes are really, really good. If you're a race fan and are going to see this film, you need to see it on the big screen to enjoy it. Otherwise, just go rent Days of Thunder- a much better film.
