Based on a true story, REMEMBER THE TITANS tells the story of a high school football team in Virginia in the early seventies faced with the difficulties of racial integration. Denzel Washington is Coach Boone, the hard-nosed, no nonsense head coach who must get his players past the differences in the colors of their skin before they can work effectively as a team. It's a great story about overcoming the odds and having the courage to fight for what you believe in. Now, it is Disney, so you can expect some cliches and some cutesy moments and, of course, no sex or swearing. But if you went to a high school where you had a great football team like I did, it brings back a lot of great memories of cool, Fall Friday nights and going hoarse from rooting for your team. This one is fun, its exciting, and the game scenes were awesome.
