RULES OF ENGAGEMENT |
2000 |
If you were expecting a high-calibur, moving and exciting military courtroom drama, you're going to find that this movie is closer to Matlock than it is to A FEW GOOD MEN. When Samual Jackson is accused of ordering his marines to fire on a crowd of unarmed citizens, he turns to long time friend Tommy Lee Jones to defend him at his court martial. Now, what I really didn't like about this movie (besides the lousy dialogue, crappy undeveloped characters, and plot twists that go nowhere) was that it turns you against Jackson. When you see his men kill the civilians, there is not a gun to be found and you're just thinking they should fry this guy and return your eight bucks. But, 75% of the way through the movie you see the crowd again and everyone has a gun, which by the way looks absolutely rediculous. Why did they do this? I have no idea- its just seems to be the wrong way to make a film. This one is mildly entertaining at best. |
