This is, without a doubt, one of the weirdest, most bizarre, and dumbest coming-of-age films ever made. However, this will probably be required viewing for movie buffs and film classes, just to see Jennifer Jason Leigh's performance...one of the worst ever put on film...as the whorish mom, in this most dysfunctional of dysfunctional families. Had the role been played by a female impersonator, it would have been more subtle!
