THE GENERAL'S DAUGHTER |
1999 |
Kinky and disturbing, The General's Daughter is a well told tale of the mistreatment of female officers in the US military. This movie manages to get across the points that GI Jane and Courage Under Fire were trying to. John Travolta gives one of the best performances of his career and he is nicely backed up by James Woods, James Cromwell, Madelaine Stowe, and Timothy Hutton. I won't lie to you though, there is some bad dialogue ("You better start thinking about your career!" "You'd better start thinking about yours!" -I know you are but what am I?), but the scenes between Travolta and Woods are masterfully written. Had this movie been released two months ago, it would've gotten more of the audience attention it deserves. |
