Houllier Signs!!
Liverpool have confirmed that manager Gerard Houllier has agreed a new deal which ties him to the club until the end of the 2004-2005 season.
The £1 million per year contract is reward for the transformation the Frenchman has brought about since taking sole control at Anfield and makes him the highest paid manager in the club's history.
There had been fears that Peter Robinson's retirement would influence Houllier's thoughts about a long term future with Liverpool as it was he who was hugely influential in bringing Houllier to Anfield two years ago.
However we understand the boss has no problems with Rick Parry's role as Robinson's successor and is more than happy to work alongside the new chief executive. -TeamTalk
