The Amazing Mary Millington by Mary Millington & David Weldon Published in 1979, Mary's spurious 'autobiography' is a hotch-potch of outrageous lies and fantastic fabrications. The book was co-written by the late David Weldon (Mary's probation officer during her infamous Old Bailey trial in November 1977) who pieced it together after a series of interviews with the star. Unfortunately Mary stretched the truth rather too much claiming, among other things, that her father was a German mountain-climber and she was once married to the heir of a French porcelain business! She also shaved ten years off her birth-date. Mary only tells it like it is when talking about aspects of her childhood, her mother's illness and her brushes with the law and personal battles against censorship. 192 pages. Illustrated with 13 extremely rare black & white photographs, including Mary posing topless at Number 10 Downing Street, the book also contains 40 pages written by the National Campaign for the Reform of the Obscene Publications Act. The book was reprinted in magazine form by David Sullivan in 1984 with new, more explicit photographs, but the original paperback book is now incredibly difficult to find.
