2008 sees Kylie Minogue celebrating her 40th birthday and 21 years of global superstardom. From the first time soap fans saw her dressed in a mechanic's oily overalls in 'Neighbours' to her current standing as an international icon Kylie has enjoyed an untarnished love affair with the British and Australian public. More so than any performer Kylie has been an expert at changing her look - from innocent, fresh-faced teenager to confident, sexy showgirl - but Kylie is more than just an image, she is a worldwide phenomenon.
The Complete Kylie gives the most definitive overview of the performer's career ever published: from her days as a young TV actress through to her domination of the music charts as one of the world's best-selling, and most-adored, pop stars. The book is the very first attempt to catalogue Kylie's multi-faceted career and her three decades of unparalleled success. The Complete Kylie features a detailed retrospective of all the performer's TV acting roles, big screen movies, albums, singles and live concerts, complete with lavish photographs and rare memorabilia. From 'Skyways' to 'Doctor Who' and `I Should Be So Lucky' to `Wow' this is all the Kylie you'll ever need.

The most famous female pornstar of all time, Linda Lovelace, has died in Denver, Colorado, USA. The former actress had been in poor health in recent years and on April 3 she was involved in a serious car crash. After suffering severe internal injuries her family asked doctors at the Denver Health Medical Center to turn off her life support machine on April 22.
Despite being a porn legend, Lovelace, real name Linda Boreman, only actually appeared in three cinema sex films: Deep Throat (1972), Deep Throat Part II (1973) and Linda Lovelace for President (1976). All her other movies were cobbled together using out-takes and clips from several hardcore 8mm loops she shot in the late 60s and early 70s. However, the notoriety surrounding her debut movie kept her in the public eye long after her career had ended.
After writing her autobiography Ordeal in 1980, she claimed she'd been forced into pornography by her violent first husband, Chuck Traynor, and famously attacked the porn business at every opportunity. During the 80s she was the most vigorous opponent of the adult movie industry.
Mellowing with age, in her later years she started attending conventions and sold autographed photos of herself. She died aged 53.

NEW MARY! - The British tradition of 'saucy postcard' humour - boobs, bums and boorish innuendo - is perhaps best exemplified by the long running Carry On movies. But there is a forgotten cinema of saucier 'X certificate' movies.
Simon Sheridan traces the history of the British sex film from its beginnings in such coy nudist camp films as Naked As Nature Intended through to its boom years with the Confessions series and its many imitators, to its demise following censorship clampdowns and the introduction of home video in the early eighties.
