Cam is a fictional character invented by novelist Lisa Kleypas for her book Devil in Winter. He is said to be half Roma (Gypsy) and half Irish and he is the factotum at Ivo Jenner's gambling club. Cam is described as being about 25 years old with "swarthy hue" skin, "inky" curly black hair (that according to the times needs cutting) and "golden-hazel eyes". He wears a diamond stud and he is friends with Ivo's daugther Evangeline.Cam has a tattoo of a Pooka on his right forearm. A Pooka (also Púca or Phouka) is considered the most dangerous of the Irish fairies. "The guise in which it most often appears, however, is that of a sleek, dark horse with sulphurous yellow eyes and a long wild mane." (1) Who are the Roma? Roma are the people non-Roma (us) refer to as Gypsies. They are an ethnic group who originated in northern India then migrated to Europe and the rest of the world.
