I knew I wanted to see this. I mean, it's a Ron Howard movie. It had to be good. And of course with Matthew McConnaughey in it, it couldn't do that bad. I thought this movie was creative, and suprisingly not at all like The Truman Show like most people feared. I thought that the writing was good but I think the reason why I didn't give this movie a better grade was because of the acting. McConnaughey was wonderful as was Ellen Degeneres and Martin Landau but I thought that Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Hurley were lackluster. I think that they detracted from the movie. This is nitpicking though. I think this was a really good movie and very enjoyable. I think that it gets dark and depressing at times and I thought that the character of Ed's father wasn't developed well enough and it left kind of a void in the story. However, I think that Ellen and Matthew save this film. I enjoyed the ending and I think that it's very cute. Probably a good date movie. I recommend it.
