I wanted to see this film for such a long time but then I had trouble finding a theater that was playing it. I especially wanted to see it when it beat Saving Private Ryan. I had to see what could beat it out for best film at the Oscars. I've finally seen it and what keeps coming to my mind is "how"? I don't get it. There's so much I don't get about it. First, I don't think it was near good enough to beat Saving Private Ryan and if anyone in that movie was worthy of an Oscar it was Ralph Fiennes not Gwenyth Paltrow. But beyond these little things I really enjoyed the movie. It was very creative and cute. I think the acting definately supports the film. Joseph Fiennes is excellent as Shakespeare and Rupert Everett even does a pretty good job in his small role as Christopher Marlowe. Gwenyth is very good, I'm not sure if it's best actress material, but it was good. I love romantic comedies too so I might be a little biased. But I still think the script and the acting are both very good and I say job well done. It's very entertaining.
