This is the most fun I've had in a long time. I can't remember the last time I cried in the theater because I was laughing so hard. This was the most creative and witty cartoons I've ever seen. The voices weren't the star of this show as opposed to movies like Aladdin. The animation was good, but it wasn't the star either. The best part of this movie is the continuous jabs at Disney and other fairy tale stories

The movie is predictable, but that's only because we've been exposed to so many cartoons with similar endings, we know how the story goes. The guy gets the girl...tough one to figure out. Now, having said that...the characters are great and I don't know how Eddie Murphy pulled off such an annoying role without making you want to kill him, but he did. I thought it was strange that Mike Myers did a scottish accent, all I could think of for the first five minutes he spoke was "So I Married an Axe Murderer", or some of you might think of Fat Bastard from Austin Powers 2. Anyway, I thought it was a little distracting, but not too much. Cameron Diaz does an alright job and so does John Lithgow.

But, I'll say it one more time, the best part of this movie, by far, is the writing. It's hystarically funny! Nothing is sacred, look for jabs at the three little pigs, pinnochio, disney world, etc. My personal favorite is the information desk that closely resembles the "It's a Small World After All" animated children at Disney Land. This is the best cartoon I've seen in such a long time. I think I may even like it better than A Bug's Life, but I'll wait to make that judgement. I'm not sure if it's appropriate for children, especially if you're a kind of prudey parent. There's lots of gross humor and some disturbing (but real funny) factors such as the eggs. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I really liked it, and I think you will too.
