Starring: Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme

Rating:

This movie is a breath of fresh air. I usually enjoy witty comedy more than slapstick. For example, I like movies like Being There much more than any Jim Carrey flick. This movie illustrates a new brand...random humor. This film is over the top throughout the whole of it.

When I say random humor, think of the boy falling off his bike in While You Were Sleeping, then apply it to a whole movie. I laughed over and over again. There are so many quotable scenes. The reason the movie doesn't score higher is because there is not intelligence involved. It's as though some buddies sat down one night when they were drinking and came up with the story. Actually, that's probably what happened.

The premise is this, a group of sloppy, semi-crazy buddies are all state troopers near the border in Vermont.  They have an ongoing rivalry with the local police and they spend their days playing pranks on people they've pulled over.  All is well until they find out that they might be shut down.  To save their jobs they need to make a big bust and soon.  The results are scenes that couldn't be funnier and characters that couldn't be sillier.

This movie is definitely funny and there are some hysterical scenes. However, there's a good bit of disgusting humor, and some things that are just a bit too random to be funny. There's some definite star potential in this mix of mostly unknowns and there are some classic scenes in the making, i.e. the "meow" scene and anything dealing with Farva. I highly recommend this movie for people who aren't looking for intelligence, just laughs.
