I had heard mixed reviews about this film before I finally went to see it myself. I must say that it DID have a lot of potential but unfortunately it didn't live up to it. Robin Williams did a fairly good job as did Cuba Gooding, Jr. However, I thought Annabella Sciorra was a disappointment and she didn't pull any sympathy from me. I thought the movie had a very interesting story but it was poorly written and arranged. Although 3/4ths of the movie are pleasant and spent in a wonderfully decorated heaven, the movie has a very dark feel. The last chunk of the movie is spent in hell. It is dark, depressing and slow. There is only a few minutes dedicated to the resolution which leaves the audience still feeling the pain of the 30 minute long hell visit. The movie does drag a bit besides the scenes in hell and there are a few twists in the story line that aren't needed that just end up distracting the audience from the real story. But, Williams' wonderful acting, the interesting story, and the pleasing effects make this one ok to watch.
