Bright, cheery, bubbly little Megumi (Hey! I'm not little! -Megumi) is Keiichi's little sister by one year, a fact she likes to remind him of quite often. Bright and caring, Megumi likes nothing more than to take an interest in her brother's relationship with Belldandy although not to Urd's extent. (Thank Kami-sama and all His offices for that.) She's also a rough and tumble girl who likes sports like softball and automobiles like her brother, isn't afraid of getting a few scratches for them, and hangs around with him often. Although not a major character to Belldandy or Keiichi's degree, she makes lots of appearances.
Following her brother's footsteps by joining the Nekomi Institute of Techonology (N.I.T), Megumi appears to share the same interests as he does although some interests are more to her liking and others to her brother's. Like her brother, she uses motorbikes to travel around, although since she doesn't have to carry any passengers around, she likes race bikes. (And she does race. Read the manga to find out.) She looks up to her brother as a role model as well, occasionally worried about not living up to his expectations. A very warm brother-sister relationship bonds them together, although it may not appear so.
But like any other girl with an older brother, she's your *almost* typical younger sister type. She likes to poke around in her older brother's business (as I said, his love life) and incite him to do all sorts of things as a simple, mischevious "dare", although all in all good intent. Occasionally annoying to Keiichi, Megumi also seems slightly naive about the "real world", as Keiichi points out to her in her house hunting episode. She probably recently just moved out of her parents' home. She's also terrified of rats. (I wonder why?)
She's also a very determined and consciencious person. Striving to do her best in her endeavours in typical friendly sibling rivalry, Megumi likes to try to do as well as, if not better, than her brother in anything. She knows she isn't a one person island though, and does look to him for help when she knows she'll need it. But even though she herself doesn't seem to have any serious relations with anyone just yet, Megumi likes to "show off" to Keiichi and give her brother advice on wooing women. (Namely, Belldandy. Probably because Megumi herself's a woman? *laugh*)
And even though the two of them take up different courses, Megumi appears every little bit as capable as Keiichi in the workings of the motorbike. She also likes the Aerodynamics lectures held at N.I.T, saying that she gets to play with all sorts of fun paper aeroplane designs. But she's extremely intelligent and dilligent, probably more so than her brother. At least she's more capable when it comes to theoratical problems and mathematical sums. (Of course she isn't a match for the Goddesses yet, but that's another difference altogether.)
But for all her resourcefulness and intelligence, Megumi's still in the dark about the gaijin (gai = outside(r), foreign, jin = person, people) who are living with Keiichi. Close she has come to being told the straight truth by Belldandy, but Keiichi's always managing to stop Megumi from finding out in time. Is it because Megumi's a gossip, because she might not believe in Goddesses (oh er, another one for the Goddesses to help), or it might be too much for her? Megumi appears sensitive a person enough to be shocked if she believes Keiichi, but; Maybe Kosuke-sama will reveal this someday. Maybe she's already figured this out and is acting dumb? Who knows?
Well, this is the end of Megumi's presentation. As most of you can tell by now, she's one of my favorite characters in Ah! My Goddess. Sweet and feminine, Megumi has a lot to learn and teach her brother as well as lots of life's lessons to learn, but for now, she's got Goddesses looking out for her.
