The May 1999 Teen People (with Drew Barrymore on the cover) contains a few tid bits about the Boys. Read the following paragraphs to find out what was said.
In the Star Tracks section there is a picture of Nick Carter and Magic Johnson. Together the two participated on the same basketball charity team in which they helped their team to a victory in a double overtime. This basketball game was held in Miami and was responsible for raising money for four different charities. In the same section (a few pages after), there was a picture of Howie and his sister Pollyanna dancing at the opening of a Motown Cafe in Orlando, Florida.
Catch Teen People on ABC (Friday May 21, 1999) for the 21 Hottest Stars under 21. It's all about celebrities we luv and their interviews. The 21 Stars Under 21 hits magazine stands on May 7, 1999 and you can vote for you favourite star on the Teen People AOL site or at www.abc.com . Nick's picture was included in this ad so his chances look pretty good for being nominated!
*ALSO* There was an article on Fatima Robertson who choreographs dance routines for the boys. In the article she talked about how Boys have greatly improved their dancing skills since the beginning. There were a few pictures of the Boys and I will probably scan then in at a later date.
*As always check your local magazine stand for BSB articles and pictures. A new "Got Milk?" ad featuring the Boys has been circulating in various magazines over the last few months.
If you missed it, here it is (past news).................
Those of you who get Much Music should check your local TV listings for the airing of a Backstreet Boys Concert special. I am pretty sure it is on a Saturday (April 3, 1999) and it is a taped concert from the Orlando Arena in Orlando, Florida.
I was watching Much Music on Feb 13th, 1999 and I saw an interview with Nick's brother on. Aaron Carter announced that -yes- it is true, he wants to pursue an acting career and is likely to show up in his own sitcom in the near future. Aaron also said Nick was one of his role models!

A previously recorded Backstreet Boys' concert is appearing on PAY PER VIEW in Canada. From the small preview I saw it looked alright except I wouldn't want to pay the $24.99 charge.
AWARDS SHOW: The Backstreet Boys appeared and performed at the recent 1998 Billboard Music Awards Show (Dec 8th, 1998).
BOOK: Nick's official autobiography written by his mother Jane Carter and entitled 'The Heart and Soul of NICK CARTER' is out in bookstores. It contains a special foreword written by Nick himself and never before seen pictures.
A NIGHT OUT WITH THE BACKSTREET BOYS: A new video hits the stores, it's basically the Boys in concert and also features some of their music videos like We've Got It Goin' On and All I Have To Give.
ROSIE O'DONNELL SHOW: The Boys appeared on the show (Nov. 5th, 1998). They performed a song and talked with Rosie, and at the end meet up with some fans.
Nov '98, TEEN PEOPLE: There's a really cute picture of Nick holding his two puppies, Willie and Mikey, that he got last summer in an Orlando pet store under the 'Star Tracks' page. [I'm dying to see this picture]
BACKSTREET BOYS TAKE HOME MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARD FOR BEST GROUP VIDEO! September 10th, 1998 at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, BSB's video "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" beat out several groups for Best Group Video. The Boys thanked God, their families, their fans, their management team, their record companies (Jive, Transcontinental & BMG), they also thanked the video's director Joseph Kahn, producer/writer Dennis Pop (who recently died) and last but not least their dance choreographer Fatima Robertson. Later during the awards show, the group performed "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)".
OPENING FOR MTV VIDEO AWARDS SPOOFS BSB: If you saw the show, the beginning clip was a comedy sketch that had Ben Stiller ("There's Something About Mary") spoofing the Boys by pretending to be the 6th member who got canned. BSB appears in this sketch and they pretend that Ben's character got ousted from the group since he couldn't dance properly and etc..... Ben's character therefore ends up with another character (played Andy Dick, NBC's Newsradio) and together they spoof the vid "Quit Playing Games With My Heart" (those shirtless rain scenes) and the "As Long As You Love Me" vid (the face changing and chair dancing scenes).
MUCH MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS: AJ and Howie appeared to receive an award.
The ABC television show SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH has a soundtrack out from Geffen Records. The Backstreet Boys provide a track for this CD; other notable artists on this soundtrack include Aqua, N Sync, Sugar Ray, Spice Girls, Robyn, Chumbawamba, Ben Folds Five and more.
Another U.S. Cover for the Boys: All five Boys made the cover of Entertainment Weekly.
TEEN Magazine: The September 1998 cover features none other than the Backstreet Boys! But wait----they may be on the cover yet they only get a mere two pages inside the magazine (one for the article, one for the photo). Anyhow, all you diehard fans will probably check it out. For those who won't, the article was short and contained nothing new, just stuff about their tour and Brian's surgery.
TEEN PEOPLE: Nick was on the cover of TEEN People Magazine along with all the other Boys (August 1998). Inside were various pics of Nick and the Backstreet Boys at home in Orlando, Florida. From this article, we learn about how Nick tried hard to convince a record company rep to let him wear his hair braided in the new, "I'll Never Break Your Heart" vid. If you've seen this vid already, u definitely know that his hair didn't end up braided but it did look different and that's because he reached a compromise for a new do.
THE VIEW: On July 17th , BSB appeared on ABC's, "The View". They performed two songs, "As Long As You Long Me" and "I'll Never Break Your Heart", they also answered some questions from the audience made up of all screaming and hysterical girls. Anyhow, I did see the end, AJ was asked of his most embarrassing moment and he said that it occurred on a date when he opened a champagne bottle and the cork flew right into his date's face. ~Also, Brian denied the internet rumor that he is engaged.
BSB VIDEOS: Two Backstreet Boys video cassetttes are out, one is called "Total Access" but it's geared mainly to the American fans since it contains video parts from the previous BSB videos. The other video that is out is called "Back Street Stories" and it is an unauthorized video.
BRAVO ALLSTARS: Nick can be seen in the video "Let the Music Heal the Soul" it's an European charity effort that has the Backstreet Boys, the Moffatts, Aaron Carter and others singing all together as the -Bravo Allstars-.
