Rex Rottwyler: Hello once again to another edition of our shoot interview session, and today's guest is one-half of the XWA World Tag Team Champions, and a former 2-time XWA International Champion, the Wizard of Odd. Wiz, thank you for joining me to do the shoot.
Wizard of Odd: Rex, I want to do it, and thank you for letting me steal...buy a copy of the XWA Little C Shoot Interview.
Rex Rottwyler: Jim, did he just buy that tape?
Jim Conway: Nope, just showed him the door.
Rex Rottwyler: Wiz, twenty-four U.S. dollars, please.
Wizard of Odd: Put that on my tab, you know me Rex.
Rex Rottwyler(sighs): Very well. As always, first question; how did you first break into the business?
Wizard of Odd: Well, this may be a surprise to everyone, but this is the Wizard's first wrestling job. I am only twenty-one years old. But I did spend six weeks training in Calgary (dramatic pause) Alberta, Canada with the great Stu Hart. At first, Stu wanted me to join the WWA, but I saw how DC ran things and didn't like it. So I signed with the newly re-opened XWA.
Rex Rottwyler: How did you get in contact with the XWA?
Wizard of Odd: Stu Hart help me get in with the WWA, but then I took it opon myself to call Tokyo and get a contract with the XWA. That had to be one of the best things I could have done with my career.
Rex Rottwyler: Who is your personal "kliq" in the lockeroom?
Wizard of Odd: Personal kliq in the locker room......well, a couple of guys are my real life buddies. First has to be Little C. Chris and I have been good friends for a while now. Another close friend of mine is Joker. Joker and I hang out a lot together. But recently Joker and I have been in a slight argument because I think he always cheats in cards, but that is another story. Mike the Homeless is another close friend of mine. As he said in his interview, I helped develope the homeless guy gimmick. I am ashamed to say this, but Mystery Man (also known as Dan the e-fed hater) is a friend of mine. But I would really like to kick his ass in the XWA.
Rex Rottwyler: Did any of the veterans give you advice or helped you out in any way?
Wizard of Odd: To be perfectly honest with you, the only guy that gave me any type of guidance was Doc O'leary. He really helped me along with my gimmick, other wise the veterans have been afraid of me because they know I am coming to win the world title.
Rex Rottwyler: Who do you consider your best to work with in the ring?
Drought, period. The two matches that we had together were insane, and drawing the highest rating in the history of the XWA sure was an honor. I know the fans are still talking about our matches. So, Drought if you want to tango again, I am all game.
Rex Rottwyler: Some of the boys in the lockeroom say that Truth and Drought are more like leaders to he company. Do you agree with that statement?
Wizard of Odd: Sure, I think Truth and Drought are the leaders. Every team needs a captain, and Truth and Drought are the XWA's captain (even though the Wizard has beaten both of them).
Rex Rottwyler: How did you feel when Misery Machine passed you the torch when he made his retirement to the wrestling world?
Wizard of Odd: I was touched......I really was. Misery Machine and I had a great match, and it was the last match of his career. The match was a Hell in a Cell with alligators around the outside of the ring. We pushed each other to the limit, and at the end we both were out cold. I am sort of saddened that I had to end Misery Machine's wrestling career, but for him to pass the torch to me was a classy act. And bet your bottom dollar that I won't disappoint him.
Rex Rottwyler: How did you feel about the death of Justin Santiago?
Wizard of Odd: That Thursday morning when I heard the news I only had one thought in my mind, why? Why him? Why so young? Why murder? The WAC-offs and Forces of Impact had quite the fued, but that came to an end when Justin died. Justin was a great talent. I loved working with him, and when he teamed with Drought it was great. I think the fued with the Forces of Impact really put the tag team division in the XWA on the map. The fans loved it, and I loved it. Justin, I may have called you an ECW rip-off, but now I will only call you.....great.
Rex Rottwyler: Whose idea was it to call the stable WAC-PAC?
Wizard of Odd: Doc O'leary came up with the idea to call the stable the WAC-PAC. I thought it was a great idea and agreed.
Rex Rottwyler: Did you feel that with the retirements of Misery Machine, Hardcore Harry, Hall Monitor, Calvin Krime, and Devin Borgir it would finally elevate you into main event status?
Wizard of Odd: Finally, elevate me into main event status. I thought I was main event status, but the leaving of these men will only clear the way for a Wizard of Odd world title reign. Now, Misery Machine and I really had a great battle with the match ending in a draw. But it was a great match, and that man defiantly belongs in the hall of fame. Hardcore Harry, I will always remember him. Why? Because he hit me with a barbed wire baseball bat, and a piece of the barbed wire was lodge in my skin. After the match, I went in the back, took out the barb with a pair of scissors, then super glued my face back together. That is why I have that scar on my face. Hall Monitor and I never stepped into the ring, but I will always respect him for what he did to the sport. Calvin Krime, we never stepped between the ropes, but he was a great competitor and he was always the man that rallied the boys in the back to wrestle, even on days when we didn't want to. Devin Borgir and I had one match. It was a tag team title match between the WAC-Offs and Dysfunction. The WAC-offs won, so hopefully the world gold will be around my wast shortly.
Rex Rottwyler: Would you ever consider jumping to the WWA when it returns this September?
Wizard of Odd: Hell No!! Not even going to waste my breath on that stupid question.
Rex Rottwyler: Wiz, here are some opinions on people and things....
Wizard Odd: I know, I'm ready.
Rex Rottwyler: Okay, the XWA.
Wizard of Odd: Great company, love it, and would never leave. Can't wait to be world champion.
Rex Rottwyler: The WWA.
Wizard of Odd: Next question.
Rex Rottwyler: Misery Machine.
Wizard of Odd: Insane, technical, and high flyer. The all round athlete, and a great commish.
Rex Rottwyler: Little C.
Wizard of Odd: My best friend. A man who deserves more in the business, and he his time will come.
Rex Rottwyler: The WAC-offs.
Wizard of Odd: The 2-time XWA World Tag Team Champions. Friends, and most of all; insane mother fuckers. We will hold the world titles for a long time to come. Unless someone can take them from us, but we have beaten everyone. Foundation, Dysfunction, Forces of Impact, the C.o.B, Lightside.....who's left???
Rex Rottwyler: The WAC-PAC.
Wizard of Odd: Best stable in the company. We are bigger and better than ever. There are five great guys in the stable, and we can't wait to have every single piece of gold in the WAC-PAC.
Rex Rottwyler: Prez Tokyo.
Wizard of Odd: Great Prez, bad wrestler, and worse promo cutter. I would love to get him in the ring.
Rex Rottwyler: Doc O'Leary.
Wizard of Odd: Great guy, but how long can you stay on vacation? Please come back and restore order in the XWA.
Rex Rottwyler: Prez DC.
Dan, can you say, "cock sucker"?
Rex Rottywler: Drought.
Wizard of Odd: Great worker. I would love to have a rematch with the guy. I think he is one of the best this fed has ever seen, and I think you should make room for him in the hall of fame
Rex Rottwyler: Justin Santiago.
Wizard of Odd: God rest his soul.
Rex Rottwyler: So where do you see the Wizard of Odd in the near future?
Wizard of Odd: First, I would like to see the Wizard of Odd become the world champion. He has worked his ass off, and has yet to be world champion. He is in the tournament for the title, and I predict him winning the title. He has all ready defeated Truth without Truth even getting an offensive manuver in. That is impressive. I see the Wizard taking down who ever is in his path. I see him and Chris keeping the tag team gold. I see his stable getting every title in the federation, and I see exacting some revenge on Tokyo. On the side, the Wizard would enjoy getting a rematch with Fillipine Machine. Flillipine Machine was a one match wonder as I like to call them. He beat me in a match, and now he is behind bars, but I would really like to get a rematch with him and kick his ass.
Rex Rottwyler: Wiz, thank you for doing the shoot with us.
Wizard of Odd: No prob Rex.
