Sonny and Brenda have captured the hearts of many faithful daytime fans. What they brought to their viewers has yet to be seen again, and the chemistry between their portrayers stands unmatched. Maurice Benard and Vanessa Marcil took two characters with a mere interest in each other and helped that explode into two PEOPLE who couldn't stop loving each other even when they wanted to.
Brenda Barrett was a beautiful eighteen-year-old model. Previously hurt by Jagger, and had since been more independent. Feisty, mischievious, and stubborn as ever. A fire in her eye that could drive a man wild, and a gleam in her smile that could send his head spinning. Looking for danger, she found what she least expected: Love.
Michael "Sonny" Corinthos, Jr., was a mobster and strip club owner. He was seen as the scum of Port Charles, and wasn't respected by anyone but his business associates. Resulting from being abused as a child, he was shut off and cold. But not without being passionate, quick-tempered and scared of love. With deep, dark eyes that a woman could get lost in, and dimples to make her knees weak, he was originally JUST a mobster... But Brenda brought out the best in him and revealed something no one else
knew he had: A heart of gold.
They taught each other how to love, and had a connection that went beyond what was believeable. The perfect couple, a "match made in heaven", they beat all odds and ignored outsiders' objections to their relationship. Having a sixth sense about each other, they knew when the other was hurting or in trouble. As a result, their love became stronger as each day passed.
Now, Brenda is missing, presumed dead, and Sonny has returned to the place where he fell in love with Brenda. A new love interest is on the agenda, but will that mean Sonny forgets Brenda? I wouldn't bet on it.
