Soundtrack of Swing Kids
1. Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing) [4:57], written by Louis Prima This is the music played at the Trichter before it is shut down, which Peter and Evey (Peter's kind of girlfriend) dance to.
2. Nothing to Report [1:36], written by James Horner Played when the HJs are reporting un-Nazi-like sentiments they heard on the street, Thomas reports his father, and Peter says he has nothing to report.
3. Shout and Feel It [2:27], written by Count Basie
The solo Arvid plays at the Bismarck before the HJs come to check it out to make sure "unpatriotic music" (aka swing) is not being played.
4. It Don't Mean a Thing (If it Ain't Got That Swing) [2:48], written by Duke Ellington and Irving Mills, performed by Billy Banks
This is their signal to each other that they are swing kids, and after Thomas fights Emil and they describe the fight to Arvid.
5. The Letter [4:09], written by James Horner
This song is used at the beginning introduction, Arvid's death scene (which is super sad), when Peter gets his dad's letter, and is the general theme song of the movie.
6. Flat Foot Floogie [3:17], written by Slim Gaillard, Bud Green, and Slam Stewart, performed by Benny Goodman
This is the music playing when Arvid is walking back from the docks and the HJs find him trying to dance.
7. Arvid Beaten [2:10], written by James Horner
This is pretty much self-explanatory; when Arvid is beaten by the HJs.
8. Swingtime in the Rockies [3:08], written by Benny Goodman and James R. Mundy, performed by Benny Goodman
This song is played during the scene when Peter and Thomas are being chased by cops after stealing the radio.
9. Daphne [1:50], written by Django Reinhardt
This is played during Arvid's last guitar performance, when he goes into a tirade about who all will be killed by the Nazis.
10. Training for Utopia [3:43], written by James Horner
This is played while Peter and Thomas are participating in HJ athletic events and the rally they show.
11. Life Goes to a Party, written by Benny Goodman and Harry James/Jumpin' at the Woodside, written by Count Basie, [2:17]
This is the first swing song played, when Peter and Thomas walk into the first dance hall.
12. Goodnight, My Love [3:06], written by Mack Gordon and Harry Revel, performed by Benny Goodman
This is on the radio when Herr Knopp (the creepy gestapo guy who keeps coming around Peter's mom), Willi, Peter, and their mom is eating supper together.
13. Ashes [4:20], written by James Horner
This is played while Peter is off delivering ashes (unknowingly) to families, and he finds out what he was delivering to them.
14. Bei Mir Bist Du Schon [4:09], written by Sammy Cahn, Saul Chaplin, Jacob Jacobs, and Sholom Secunda, vocals by Janis Siegel
This is the last song Peter dances to before he is taken away to a work camp.
15. The Bismarck [3:04], written by James Horner
This is played when the Bismarck is being overrun by the HJs, Peter and Thomas see each other on opposite sides, and begin to fight.
16. Swing Heil [5:26], written by James Horner
This is the song played when Peter is being loaded up into the truck, Thomas tells him "Swing Heil," Willi vows "Swing Heil" to his brother, Herr Knopp knows he has lost Willi to the swing kids and leaves, and the credits of the movie roll.
