Cameroon has a population of about 15Million in which 80% are French-speaking and 20% are English-speaking.The percentage of cameroonians less than 15years,65years and above 65yars are 46%,51% and 3% respectively.The birth rate is estimated at 4.2% and the death rate is estimated at 1.4%.The population growth rate is about 2.89%. Cameroon is one of the two bilingual countries in the world.Apart for English and French,there exist 24 other major languages.The Ethnic groups of Cameroon have the following percentages;Cameroon Highlanders 31%,Equatorial Bantu 19%,Kribi 11%,Fulani 10%,Northwestern Nantu 8%,Eastern Nigritic 7%,other Africans 13%,non Africans less than 1%.Cameroon has so many religions among which are indigenous beliefs 51%,Christians 33%,Muslim 16%.Cameroon has so many touristic sites among which are the Botanical Garden,the sea in Limbe and the Mount Fako;in the South West Province,the kribi area in the South Province,the Sultan's Palace of the People of the Bamoums in Foumban;in the West Province and the Waza Park in the Far North Province

Cameroon ,apart from having good touristic areas , is a big football nation.She has won the African Nations' cup three times by defeating her neigbhour Nigeria and has taking part in the world cup tournaments four times.She also recently won an Olympics Gold medal against Spain after penalty shooting out.

Cameroon is headed by a President(Head of State).The President is elected by the inhabitants of Cameroon for a term of five years.The government is headed by the Prime Minister who is appointed by the President.There also exist the legislative arm of goverment which is called the National Assembly.It is headed by the House Speaker.Members are elected into the house by the inbitants also for a term of five years.Cameroon is a multiparty Nation.Some of the political parties include the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement(CPDM);the ruling party,the Social Democratic Front(SDF),The National Union for Democracy and Progress(UNDP),the Cameroon Democratic Union(CDU),just to name a few.There also exist international organisations in Cameroon,among which are ACCT,ACP,BDEAC,CCC,FAO,ILO,IMF,OAU,UNESCO,UNIDO,WHO,UN just to name a few.

Cameroon has just a few transportation means which links her to other parts of the World.Among which are the two international Airports in Douala and Yaounde,the Douala Seaport which saves as a transportation medium for incoming and outgoing goods.There also exist Railway stations,Highways,Waterways,Ports and Harbors(in Bonaberi,Douala,Tiko,Kribi,Garoua),Airports;52 in number in which there are 11 with paved runways and 41 without paved runways.

Cameroon has some many industries among which are petroleum production and refining,food processing,light consumer goods,textiles,lumber industries.Cameroon exports and import products.The exporting comodites include Crude Oil and Petroleum Products,Lumber,Aluminum,Cocoa,Beans,Coffee and Cotton while the importing comodites are Machinces and Electrical equipmenets,food,consumer goods,transport equipments and petroleum products.The main currency of Cameroon is the Communaute Financiere Africaine Franc(CFAF).As concerns petroleum,Cameroon is one of the countries in Africa that produce petroleum eventhough the exporting is low.There exist some oil Refinery industries in Cameroon among which is SONARA in Limbe.Apart from been an oil producer nation,Cameroon also produce timber.An area in which timber can be got from is Akwaya in Manyu Division.

Educational studies in Cameroon is not compulsory but more than three quarter of the inhabitants of Cameroon do attend Nursey,primary,secondary,High school or the University.These universities include Yaounde I,Yaounde II,Buea(the only English University in the country),Dschang,Douala and Ngaoundere.Some of the professional schools in Cameroon include CUSS Yaounde(the only Medical School in Cameroon),Ecole Normale Superieure Yaounde and Ecole Normale Bambili Annex(the Teachers Tranning College),ENAM Yaounde(the only school of Magistracy),the Higher School of Public Works and the Higher School of Post and Telecommunication,just to name a few.

As for communication system in Cameroon,it is not good,due to the lack of access to the internet(which is overcoming the whole world now).Cameroon has only one Television Station wich is called the Cameroon Radio Television(Crtv).It is situated in Mballa II(Yaounde).Cameroon has ten radio stations.There also exist Newspapers in Cameroon,among which are the Cameroon Tribune(the government newspaper),the Herald,Le Messager just to name a few.

There also exist the military branch.The military branche consist of the Army,Navy(including Naval Infantry),Air Force,National Gendarmerie,Presidential Guard.The military age range from 18yers old.

some public holidays in Cameroon are Jan. 1,Feb. 11,Apr.21,May 1,May 20,Aug.25 and Dec. 25.
