Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict is a
very interesting series. It is about a race of aliens, the
Taelons, who come to earth, ostensibly to help us. Many of
the humans accept them with open arms, and call them The
Companions.
Da_an is sent to earth as the Taelon Ambassador.
Several humans are selected to be companions to the
Companions, and implanted with a Skrill, an alien
weapon/creature. Their relationship is symbiotic, and the
Skrill enhances the humans innate abilities.
Ronald Sandoval is one of these implanted humans. In the first season, William Boone was also selected to be implanted. His wife was
murdered by Sandoval so that he would have no ties that would keep him
from committing to the Companions completely! This was done without the Taelon's knowledge.
Although Boone was a companion, he was secretly a
member of the Resistance. Modifications were made to Boone's Skrill when it
was implanted, so that he could keep his self-will, while
appearing to be loyal to the Taelons. Boone eventually died.
Lily Marquette, a pilot for the Talons, is also a member of the Resistance which is led by Jonathan Doors.
Augur, a computer hacker extraordinair, has also been recruited by the Resistance. The members of the
Resistance find out many things about the Taelons and their secret agenda (of course, they have one!), including the
fact that they have been to earth before.
