All of these images are from the Avengers episode "Takeover". Tara has been captured and is about to be given a special transplant - after being gassed of course. [1] Tara turns away and takes a deep breath. The gas is readied. [2], [3] and [4] The splendid black mask and minute delivery system are lowered to Tara's face. [5] Tara becomes unco-operative and raises her head. She is holding her breath at this point. [6] Tara's head is forced back down on the table so the gas will flow properly. [7] Tara stops resisting and soon appears sedated. As soon as the mask is released, Tara shows her captor she is far from sedated! |
Most of these images are from a photo spread in issue 27 of Rubberist magazine - published in the UK by Shiny. Some are also from a Shiny Filmsvideo called "Rubberists - What Dreams are Made Of!". This was released a few months ago and is still available. |
A mixed bunch indeed. [1] is definitely from the infamous "The Dentist" - the film about the dentist who gases his patients to satisfy his own fetishes. [2] could also be from the same film. [3] is a standard hospital picture - probably from a medical Web Site. [4] and [5] are from unknown sources. |
There's much fun to be had with a little calming Nitrous Oxide at the dentist. [1], [2] and [3] are from dental Web sites showing the benefits of Nitrous Oxide - particularly for children. [4] is from a documentary about trainee dentists. The child is being put to sleep to have a large number of teeth removed. Note the lack of a mask at this stage. [5] is from the film "The Dentist". |
These images are from the 1980's mini series "V". Robin has an alien inside her and she is about to have an examination. [1] The doctor says to her "We're going to have to put you out for a little while. [2] The gas is made ready. [3] The huge black mask is applied and the doctor says "Breathe deeply Robin." [4] Robin is now asleep and the gas still flows. The people performing the operation gasp at the alien image on the monitor. [5] The patient struggles under the mask as the alien affects her anaesthesia. |
[1], [2] and [3] are from the film "Paper Mask". This is a scene with a great mask - although it involves a fake doctor trying to revive a patient - rather than put her to sleep. [4], [5] and [6] are from the film "Batman". The Joker pumps sleeping gas into the restaurant where Vicky Vale (Kim Basinger) is waiting. A box is brought to her table. Inside is a red mask and a note "Put this on." This protects her from the Joker's gas. |
The fact we've got 10 pictures proves what a wondrous scene this is from the film "The Emissary". Andre Jacobs is standing in a lift/elevator [1]. The two men behind her promptly bring out a mask and place it over her mouth and nose [2] and [3]. Andre struggles violently as she realises what is happening [4], [5], [6] and [7]. The gas takes effect and Andre is sedated [8] and [9]. She is taken out of the building in a wheelchair and is placed in an ambulance. More gas is applied here to keep her asleep [10]. She is taken to a room where she is stripped naked. Photographs are then taken of her with another man - in order to blackmail her and her ambassador husband. |
The gas scenes in the film Tank Girl are a favourite of many - even though a clear mask is used. The Kangaroo men spray gas into a room occupied by the two girls [1]. The rather dodgy Nitrous Oxide cylinder is shown in figure [2]. When the girls wake up, they are seated to be interrogated. Nitrous Oxide is given to them as a truth serum [3] and [4]. The problem is, the girls love it and keep grabbing the mask for their own use. [6] The girls evenually gas themselves to sleep. |
All six pictures came from a special on Ruby Wax. They were split between two clips - lasting a total of about three seconds. We therefore did well to capture six pictures. A reasonable black/clear mask is used in these images. |
[1] is from a video of women going to Poland for plastic surgery. They are kept sedated with a black mask the whole time. This image gives way to three small images. You wouldn't ask the boys in [2], [3] and [4] around for tea. This instant gassing scene is from the film "Innerspace". [5] is from Quantum Leap - some giggling goes on whilst setting up a car for a race. |
This is an ace collection of masks - and four of them black as well! The first two images are from a film called The Narkoser (?) and utilise probably the best mask ever. [3] is from "The Outer Limits". [4] is from a press photo library. [5] is from the Internet Gasweb site and gives way to four small images. |
Another interesting variety of masks. The one being used to sedate Jennifer Powers in [1] and [2] is strange indeed. The contraption being used in [3] is also a little odd. Number [4] seems to indicate self service on behalf of the patient. And number [5] is a classic operating room shot. All are from unknown sources - although the Stephanie Powers ones are presumably from "Hart to Hart". |
Patients decide to perform their own operation late at night. [1] One sniffs at the black mask. [2] Then he holds it over the patient to be operated on. [3] He drops the mask and forgets about it - filling the room with gas. [4] The 'surgeon' realises and is cross - then he starts laughing. [5] All present get sleepier and sleepier. Source: The Film "Carry On Nurse". |
All seven pictures are from the film "Night of the Comet". [1] The women are instructed to put the two children to sleep. [2] An attempt is made to explain the gas technique. [3] The woman behind helpfully says the children will go to see Santa Claus if they breathe the gas. [4] The electricity goes off as the gas is about to be applied. [5], [6] and [7] After the children have been rescued, the two women are tied up and gassed - they giggle uncontrollably. |
Alas, no masks in any of these images. Hopefully someone will like them! [1], [2] and [3] are from the TV series "The Prisoner". Gas pumps through the agent's key hole as he prepares for a trip. He awakens in a room like his own - but in a very strange village. [4] - [8] are from The Avengers. [1] Steed and Tara are threatened with a new type of sleep gas. [2] The enemy drops the capsule and covers his face with his hat. [3] Steed and Tara pass out as the enemy heads for the door. [4] Steed has locked the door and so the enemy heads for the window. [5] He too succumbs to the gas. |
Hijackers pump gas into an aircraft. [1] The gas tank. [2] Connecting it up. [3] Testing the pressure. [4] Turning it on. [5] It coming out of the vents. [6] People starting to become affected. [7] Everyone affected. Source: The Film "Airport 77 ??". |
Students watch as a patient is put to sleep. [1] The teacher holds the black mask and gives instruction. [2] He places it over her face and turns on the gas. [3] The patient is soon asleep. Source: The Film "Coma". |
A doctor goes berserk in an operation. [1] He leans over the patient. [2] He grabs the black mask. [3] He breaths deeply and says he needs something to calm him down. Source: The Film is "Dead Ringers". |
