Julianne Morris (Greta) didn't let a bout of bronchitis stop her from
checking in with Digest Online about the momentous decision Greta reaches
this week. "Eric and Greta find out that my mother [Gina] is supposedly
buried in the graveyard adjacent to the castle," Morris previews. "Eric
suggests that perhaps we should check the casket and see if it's really my
mother inside, so we decide to call John and have him arrange to have the
body exhumed and checked into."
This is not the course of action Greta would take under other circumstances. "It's awful for Greta," shudders Morris. "I mean, the thought of having to dig your mother's grave up and going through all that is incredibly morbid and creepy. It's very disturbing and when she thinks about it for any extended period of time, it bothers her. But at the same time, there are so many unanswered questions and the only way to get to the bottom of it is to do this. There's not much of a choice. It's a last resort." Having Eric by her side is a tremendous help to Greta. "She very much trusts him and he seems to really care about her and what's happening with her life," the actress observes. "He's just very, very caring and makes her feel very secure with the friendship." And while tracking down the truth about Gina's fate is foremost on Greta's mind, she is certainly not oblivious to Eric's charms. "There are moments where they share something beyond just the connection of searching for her mother," Morris confirms. "Moments where even if that [shared goal] wasn't there, there would still be a connection. They are growing much, much closer as friends... and possibly more."
