Greta hopes her kiss with Eric marks a
new chapter in their reationship. She
soon discovers that Nicole will do any-
thing to prevent that from happening.
After slapping down Greta's self-
confidence about Eric in a ladies' room
confrontation, Nicole comes up with
more dirty tricks. As they are about to
leave, the waiter cannot find Eric's
credit card. Nicole has paid him off to
delay Eric's leaving. Meanwhile, Lucas
gets called home, and Nicole has din-
ner without him. As Eric brings Greta
to the Horton house, the restaurant calls
to say they've found his card, so he re-
turns alone. He plays into Nicole's next
trick: She's paid off the bartender to
comment to Eric that she's in no shape
to drive herself home. Naturally, Eric
comes to her rescue.
Greta has finally found love for the first time, but is having problems and con- fides in Bo. "Greta had so much on her mind, love was not the first thing she thought about," admits actress Julianne Morris. "Of course, she had a real strong attachment to Bo. He was her hero; he brought her out of the swamp. It was the first time she experienced tenderness or compassion from anyone in a very long time. Bo has become like a big brother to her. She trusts him, confides in him, because there's a bond between them and that always will be." Greta tells Bo about how her date with Eric was cut short. When Greta tells him that she believe Eric is still not over Nicole, Bo reminds her that Eric always said he wanted to take it slow. They go to the Cheatin' Heart and run into Billie, who tells them Eric left Tuscany with Nicole.
Eric shows up, and Bo moves off with Billie to give Greta the chance to talk to Eric about Nicole. He's not open to discussing her or what took place on the drive to the Kiriakis mansion. Instead, the two play pool... and the game is charged with loving chemistry.
Greta is disappointed again when he later tells her that he can't go to the boxing match with her. He's going to New York for a job interview. Greta wonders if his willingness to leave town has to do with his feelings for Nicole.
Nicole's drinking escalates, as she feels caught in a loveless marriage and does not want to give Eric up. Things get worse when tragedy strikes at the boxing match and Nicole is blamed for her brother Brandon's behavior. With pressure mounting, Nicole is becoming a loose cannon who will stop at nothing in order to find a place of peace and security with Eric, if she can win him back.
Morris admits, "I think there will be quite a triangle. Nicole wants Eric back and she pulls out all the stops. Greta's honesty will see her through, and Eric will see the value in that."
