Eric Brady was born on October 19, 1984. Don't do the math or you'll find that he is technically only supposed to be 14 years old! But thanks to the wonderful world of SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome), Eric is currently in his early twenties. He was born the son of Roman Brady and Marlena Evans Brady. He is the twin brother of Sami Brady. He is a few minutes younger than her. His half-sisters are Carrie Brady (they share the same father) and Belle Brady (they share the same mother). He is the grandson of Shawn and Caroline Brady. He was named after his Great Uncle Brady (Shawn's brother).

To say that Eric's family situation growing was messed up is putting it lightly. John Black (who at the time thought he was Roman Brady) raised both Eric and Sami as his own children. So when the real Roman Brady came back, Eric and Sami had a difficult time dealing with it and ended up leaving town. Marlena sent them both to live with their grandparents (Marlena's parents - Frank and Martha) in Denver, Colorado. Eric and Sami were roughly 8 or 9 years old when they moved away from Salem.

In 1993, Sami returned to Salem but Eric stayed behind in Colorado. He continued to live with his grandparenta and attended school in Colorado. He dated, had friends, played lots of sports, and even joined a fraternity when he got to college. The residents of Salem rarely heard from Eric during the time of his absence. Until one night in July 1997...

Marlena had been set to marry her one true love, John. However, because of some circumstances (mainly Kristen and the reappearance of Roman), their wedding had been postponed. And during this time, Eric decided to come back to Salem. The very first scene we saw him in was at the Salem airport. He had just arrived and was carrying a John Grisham book. He walked around town for awhile and ended up at the park. There, he ran into John and Marlena -- who were thrilled to see him. They explained to him about the postponed wedding and dropped the bombshell that his father (who he thought had been killed in an ISA assignment) was in fact alive! And thus marks the beginning of Eric's time back in Salem.

Since then, he's helped out with the family problems. In the beginning, he was against his mother and John being together because he felt that she belonged with his dad. He has been very cold with John in the past, but since then he has lightened up and finally accepted John and Marlena as a couple. He helped Carrie prove that Sami had been faking her amnesia so Carrie and Austin could finally marry. And through it all, he has remained close to and supported his twin sister, Sami, through thick and thin -- proving to be a great brother.

Amidst all of this, Eric met and fell in love with Nicole Walker, who he had met at the Java Cafe when she was waitressing there. They're often bumpy relationship finally came to an end recently. As Eric is trying to put his relationship with Nicole behind him, he is spending a lot of time with his newfound friend -- Greta. They have traveled to Paris together in search for answers to her mother's demise. Will this trip bring them closer?
