Daniel was born on August 31, 1965 in Bern, Switzerland. He began studying martial arts at the age of 15 as well as boxing and kickboxing. He earned a degree in Architecture at the age of 20 then moved to Paris where he began a very successful career in modeling. Having worked in Paris, London, Tokyo, New York and Milan, he then moved to New York at the age of 25. Once in New York he had the opportunity to shoot a commercial with Jean-Claude Van Damme. Encouraged to take up acting, he moved to Los Angeles at 27. Once in Los Angeles he began studing Tae Kwon Do extensively under the direction of Grandmaster Hee Il Cho. In 1995 he shot the movie Bloodsport 2 in Thailand, which also featured Master Cho as well as Daniel's two brothers, Dirk and Cliff. Since then he has gone on to make the movies Bloodsport 3, Bloodsport 4, Future War, True Vengeance, Perfect Target, Black Sea Raid (known as Special Forces), G2, Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions. Daniel also starred as Siro in Mortal Kombat: Conquest, currently being shown in some European countries. |
