We stayed with my sister who actually lives 20 mins from downtown Atlanta, and invited her to go with us to the concert. We arrived early and located the Rick area..and stood in the packed crowd and made it through the awful band that played right before Rick, seeing as this was our first ACTUAL Rick concert...we were beyond excited..I was crying and could bearly stand...I can't really remember much from one song to the next...Jenn and I were practically hysterical :) But OUT he walked in his NEW (at that time) Pleather outfit complete with the KILLER glasses and famous smile....the band seemed to play the music to his traditional first song Affair of The Heart for the absolute longest time..as he struted on stage he was grinning like he hadn't a care in the world except playing his guitar and singing for US, his fans!
He jammed through the usual songs from the 80's...he really interacted with us as far as talking, laughing, signing things...here is a picture of him doing his usual "this is when I was a girl" speal LOL He came into the crowd to do the "Human Touch" with us and a fellow onelister helped me squash my way up towards him to cop a feel and I actually held his hand for (what seemed like 3 mins) but was about 3 seconds LOL and even touched his wedding band I really had a hard time letting go to be honest :)
He was amazing and we were in absolute Rick Bliss as he jammed and rocked his butt off to the rest of the songs, he even did "Itsalwaysomething" and we were loving it..It was a dream come true for both of us...He didn't do an encore...we assume because he needed to get to the signing...Jenn and I followed the LONG line of people rushing to get to the booth where he was doing it at. We stood in line for an over an hour and JUST when we were at the start of line, the security guard announced that "Rick is done signing, you might as well go home" I turned to Jenn and announced to HER "NOPE I am not leaving till I get his RS on my insert" :) I stood my ground and worked my way up towards HIM He was about to leave as I screamed out " RICK RICK sign mine??!!" he turned to me and grabbed my insert and signed it!! Jenn had taken off to try and cut him off by the van and got to touch his sweaty neck as he got in :) YIPEE!! We were ecstatic as you can imagine.
Little did we know but this was our first of six concerts to come in the near future..we knew we were going to love seeing HIM live...what we didn't know was that he was so very very ADDICTING :)
