Who is Shan?

Well I am 30 and live in sunny Florida, after 18 years in Michigan it was TIME to make the move south in 1990. I'm a hair stylist, going on 11 years but I am only working part-time so I can stay home with my new baby girl who was born on May 7th 2001, her name is Emily Renee, :)

I have a wonderful husband, his name is Steve, and yes he tolerates my "Rick Obsession" quite well I must say :) I am also the proud mother of a wonderful and bright seven year old little girl named Chelsea. She is the light of my life and keeps me very busy. She is also, I must add, a huge Rick Springfield fan and even sang into Rick's mic. to DDTS at the Miami concert.

Besides Rick being #1 other musical tastes are: JoDee Messina, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Fleetwood Mac, The Bee Gee's, Madonna, Vince Gill, Van Morrison, David Bowie, OZZY, AC/DC, John Mellencamp ANY 80's and many more...That is quite a range of music huh? :-) Favorite Rick songs are: I Get Excited, American Girl, Love is Alright Tonight, Kristina, Alyson, Souls, Shock to my System, Karma, Big Beautiful Friday Night, Act of Faith, My Father's Chair, Living in Oz, Just one Kiss, and of course Affair of the Heart. Ya know what? I could go on though..It is very hard to narrow it down!! :-)

As far as me being a huge Rick fan, that dates way back to the early 80's when I got my first earful of him on the radio, My mom bought me my first album "Success" and boy let me tell you, it got it's share of spins on the "turntable" :)

Rick was taking over the radio with his hits and that magical voice melted me ..keep in mind it was during my teen years..so you can imagine the posters that lined my room :-)

I never stopped being a fan. I was in the original FAN CLUB in the early 80's and in 1990 I even sent a letter requesting info on what the MAN was up to..sadly it came back "address unknown" but I never stopped listening to his tapes (now CD'S) and was greedily waiting for the release of a new CD by him and April 13th 1999 was a happy day for me. Karma is a wonderful and beautiful recording that I enjoy to extremes. His talent is amazing and I can really say Karma is his best work yet.

Jenn and I had a blast going to as many concerts as we possibly could, we are up to eleven to date, we just can't seem to get enough of HIM!! We are currently only going local ( wahhh) But I do have to say it makes us appreciate him even more :) :) Every one is like the first for me... even though I don't get to see him very often, because of the two facts of him being the star in EFX in Las Vegas, and I am now a wife and full time mom :) I sure miss him very much tho :( and I get the same adrenaline rush I always do and my heart pounds and my knee's get weak..and when HE comes out on stage my mouth drops open...and then the smile that I must get on my face could probably keep my puter running for days LOL~~I can only imagine how it feels to be Barbara..oh the lucky, lucky woman that she is :)

Who is Jenn?

Who am I?? Welp, let's see... I'm 28 and I moved to Florida from New Jersey about 14 years ago. I met a wonderful man named Steve about one year and a half ago, we became engaged June 27th 2001 and we're married on June 15th 2002!!! :) I am currently a sleep technologist, in a sleep lab working nights :) I have been there for almost 2 years now! (Shan is gaspsing!):)

I didn't have the pleasure of owning any of RS's vinyl records when I was a kid... but I had all of the cassettes! :)And, he was the man on my bedroom walls when I was growing up! :)Atlanta was my first RS concert..and then I got hooked!

I can honestly say that KARMA is the only CD that I can listen to over and over and NOT get sick and tired of it. :)If you don't yet own a copy of it..I suggest that you go and get it right now because words cannot describe how awesome: this CD is! :)

My musical tastes other than Rick include (yes, I know it's hard to belive that there are others besides him) Fleetwood Mac, the Bee Gees, Madonna, Ty Herndon, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney the list goes on but I can't think right now :)So that's just a few to give you an idea of what I like to listen to. :)

In case your wondering.... going to all of these RS concerts wasn't a "planned" thing... although it has been nice! :) So, how did it start? While we were anxiously awaiting the arrival of Karma,Shan and I had already decieded that we WERE going to go to a concert. So, we looked him up on ticketmaster.... and it didn't look like he was going to go be anywhere near us.. anytime soon. So, we decieded to go to the Westbury, New York show since it was about an hour away from where I grew up. After those tickets were bought, we took notice to the Pennsylvania State Fair Concert the day after the Westbury show, so we decieded that we had to go to that one, on the way home! It would only make perfect sense since we were driving so far...right? :)

Then.. Shan made a friend that belonged to the onelist. :)And, we both became Onelist members, from being onelist members, we learned about the Atlanta Mid-town Music Festival Show, (I had tickets for Dave Matthews Band here in Tampa on that day...I ended up selling them to go to Atlanta to see Rick....sorry Dave) :)Pleasure Island was added the following week...and we just couldn't miss that. And, when we returned home from NY we learned about Miami...now we are hooked, going through "Rick withdrawel" and find ourselves looking at maps and a tour dates list daily to see when and where we are going next! :)

Shan and I are having a blast going to all of these shows... he has been an idol to both us since as far back as we can both remember, so this is really a dream come too. And, still, every concert is like the first.. there is always just as much excitement when we here the "affair" music playing at each show, than there was at the first! :)

My favorite RS songs from the 80's are: Rock of Life, Love Somebody, Souls, Don't Walk Away, Still Crazy For You, Kristina, Alyson and Living In Oz :) My "Karma" favorites include: Free, Prayer, Itsalwaysomething, In veRonIcA'S HEAD, and Act of Faith. :) Oh, and I have to add Scandalous Life off of Sahara Snow! I can go on listing here forever... because there are SO many.... but these are my top picks! :)
