Valdosta, GA
October 2nd 1999
Friday afternoon much later than we had planned to leave we headed down to Sunrise (see the Sunrise page for those details) saw an awesome show.. had a awesome time.. and headed back to Sarasota. We got in at about three o'clock in the morning...but it was WELL worth it. :) The next morning.. Shan.. her six year old daughter and my brother.. hopped in the car about noon and took the four drive to Valdosta. We arrived at the park aroung six o' clock. We took a couple of hours to walk around and ride a few rides.. then we headed over to our seats.. which were FRONT row!!
Around eight the nomad music played.. and out came Rick! We were all pretty excited.. especially Shannon's daughter who had only seen Rick once before.. and had only seen pictures of all our other wonderful trips. :)He opened with Affair of the Heart.. and the rest is just a blur! :)
The show rocked.. I remember that much.. and best of all.. during Human Touch.. he came into the crowd and made his way towards us.. when he got to us.. he reached for Shan's daughter's hand (who was on the shoulders of my brother) and kissed it!! :) She was in heaven for the rest of the night! :)
However.. her night was not complete with that...after the show was over..Jack White was signed autographs for the crowd. So, we went down to the end where he was standing.. and she starts calling.. "Jack, Jack... Jack" :)Finally, he looks over..laughing and said "I'll be right over" He signed her laminate and asked her a few questions.. she asked him for a drum stick.. and he gave her one that he was saving for the Beacon Show. :)They took a picture...he gave her a kiss on the cheek.. and she was really in heaven..she has stated that she wants to be a drummer like Jack White! :) LOL
After all of the excitement.. we headed on the long ride home.. it was a long weekend.. but all of the love of Rick!!:)
