Shan's Review of the Concert!
Jenn and I were in NYC at the "Playwright" restaurant eating dinner on May 20th the NIGHT before Westbury and to that date she, NOR I, had heard it in public :( nor can we get anyone in Florida to play "itsalwaysomething" ~~~but low and behold we were eating our chicken pot pie and guess what song came on the radio?? :) yup it was "Itsalwaysomething" I was YELLING and I jumped up and down in my seat, it was a sight im sure :) but I was beyond happy :) ok ok ok~ now on to the review :-)
As usual...he was amazing musically...he, at Westbury, was his usual self..rocking his 49 year old butt off :) and seemed to really enjoy himself..and WE need to keep in mind that in Westbury he KNEW it was JUST him that people were going to see..no "other acts" that we, as his fans, were just paying for Rick and Rick alone....and it was what 3,000 people?? (sold out) and HE KNEW that...so Im SURE it helped him ROCK that crowd :)
He was in a great mood and it showed..Lots of hugs and smiles and rose bashing going on ..he was in a pair of black pants and white dress shirt as you can see..he looked beautiful :) ( as usual)
He played the major hits including but not only: (in no paticular order) Jessie's Girl, My Father's chair, April 24th 1981, Love Somebody, What Kind Of Fool Am I?, Don't Talk to Strangers, I Get Excited, Love is Alright Tonight, Affair of the Heart & Human Touch. For the encore he sang "Do Wah Ditty" and "All Day and All of the Night" among others, He was a mad man :) ALL over the stage dancing and smiling his heart out :)
Well after the show we hopped in the car to head back to NJ and get some rest for Pennsylvania State fair concert the next day..and prepare ourselves for a Rick withdrawl that would last until June 14th ....poor Shan and Jenn huh?? :-)
