Robby started in a punk band called the Monarchs. When he met John in 1985, they decided to form a band, along with Robby`s friend, George Tutuska, who was later replaced by Mike.

Robby on their former fans, "I think the guys in the Ramones t-shirts with their red suspenders and boots on from 1978, think our first record was a masterpiece and everything since has been downhill, and that`s an opinion...and i don`t know, once again you have to be happy with the records that you make...I mean I`m sorry if we lost them...we didn`t mean to."
