Soul Survivor

Soul Survivor was my first experience of Contemporary Christian Music and more lively music. I mean my church was lively, but this was young people jumping around in worship to songs that I'd never heard before. Soul Survivor '96 was like an awakening. I was 17, I'd become a Christian earlier that year and suddenly I discovered that my handful of friends and I weren't the only young Christians in the world. Coming from a place where I didn't really know any Christians to a place where thousands of young people were worshipping God was brilliant. The worship at Soul Survivor was something I hadn't experienced before and the place helped me to grow a lot in my walk with God.

Wake Up My Soul Sample

Well, this is a CD from before my Soul Survivor days. That might be why I don't like it as much as the later ones, though I think that it is just that the worship at Soul Survivor grew and matured. The '94 CD has some great songs on it and is very good, but it does begin to sound a little dated. However you can still have some great times with God using this CD. The worship is all led by Matt Redman, the songs are a mix of his and other people's.
