Carrie Brady (Reid)

When an actor makes a comeback on a daytime drama, the character usually has been resurrected from the dead, kidnapped and held hostage, or is returning as an evil twin. For Christie Clark, none of the above is true. In fact, she returned as 'Carrie Brady' in November, 1992 on NBC-TV's "Days of Our Lives," as the same character she played for six years, prior to departing in December, 1990. Not only is she back, but the matured and even more beautiful Clark has given the innocent 'Carrie' a glamorous new flair.
Her two year period away from "Days" is exactly what Clark needed. Says Christie, "Actually, the timing was perfect because leaving the show allowed me to go back and finish my senior year of high school and graduate with my class." This was momentous for the young actress as she had been on home study for three years and missed attending school with her friends.
Clark grew up in Orange County, California, the eldest of three children. Considering her siblings Kevin and Katie both have red hair and freckles, Christie is unique with her long, blond hair and clear complexion. Clark's father, Craig, is employed by Budweiser, while her mom Cathy, a housewife, plays an important role in Clark's acting career by serving as her manager.
After performing in an elementary school talent show at the age of nine, Clark decided that not only was performing her niche in life, but she didn't want to wait to explore the possibilities. Through a friend of her mother's, Christie quickly landed an agent and was ready to embark on an acting career. Clark's first television appearance was in a commercial for Mattel which was soon followed by a "Shera: Princess of Power" commercial.
Her other television credits include "Hull High," "Ask Max," "General Hospital," "Life Goes On," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Revenge," "Hardcastle & McCormick," and the TV movie, "Changes." Clark also appeared in the motion pictures, "A Nightmare on Elm Street - Part II," and "Children of the Corn - Part II."
These days the role of 'Carrie' is almost second nature to Clark. She feels very comfortable with her character and enjoys her work. According to Christie, "I get particularly excited shooting scenes where the writing is strong and the dialogue is realistic."
Like her character, Clark has moved out on her own to save the taxing commute to and from Orange County. Now Christie resides less than 10 minutes from the NBC studios where "Days" is taped. She lives in a newly purchased home located in the San Fernando Valley along with three roommates, two cats (Tink and Leah) and one dog (Mr. Blond). The distance hasn't affected her close ties to her family, though. She sees them at least three times a week.
Although "Days of Our Lives'" sweetheart 'Carrie Brady' is blossoming into a beautiful, young woman, Clark still sees some inherent differences between her character and her own personality. She explains, "I'm a very giving person with my family and close friends the same as 'Carrie', but Christie is much more wild than 'Carrie'."
Christie's hobbies including venturing out onto the slopes of California's mountains to snow board. She is also involved with kick-boxing, which she tries to attend three times a week. Clark eventually hopes to travel around the world, and especially would like to knock on the doors of Ireland to discover her Irish heritage.

NOTE: Carrie is no longer on DOOL she quit to be in another show. We miss her!!
