Shakespeare In Love

'Shakespeare In Love' is of course a great entertaining movie with a great cast, but it has not deserved the Best Picture Academy Award. In my opinion, two movies were better, 'Saving Private Ryan' and of course my favorite 'The Thin Red Line'. Nevertheless we have a wonderful funny movie here, which showed us that there are other ways to make Shakespeare movies. Here we have a movie ABOUT William Shakespeare and not another adaptation from one of his works. I found it very disappointing by the way that Joseph Fiennes, who played Shakespeare, has not been nominated. He gave a great performance and was even better than Gwyneth Paltrow, who won the Best Actress Award. Another curious thing is the Oscar for Judi Dench (Queen Elizabeth), who had only 8 (!) minutes screen time.
